Ask Jillian: Drinking on The Bachelorette

“I noticed on some of your dates you seemed a bit tipsy (not judging, in fact, it made me like you even more), and I don't think it was ever blatantly obvious but I was wondering was there one episode where watching it back you thought ‘man, I drank a little too much that night’? I think back and the episode where I remember thinking you were drunk was the one in the snow (skiing, snow shoeing... memory is drawing blank) that made me giggle the most because I thought you were pretty tipsy.” -Jamie
Yep. For sure. I mean I am no angel and I like to over-indulge just as much as the next single, fun-loving lady. I have no qualms about it. On the show there is extra pressure so it’s easy to reach into the cooler and grab another bottle of champagne. I don’t have any regrets however – and I would say HALF of those times it was a combination of being EXHAUSTED (sometimes I would only get an hour or two of sleep a day) with the stress…. So I guess we’ll never know which times I knocked a few too many back and which times I was just beat. Either way I am sure it was entertaining!
Have a Bachelorette related question for me? Leave it below!

I have watched the bachelorette/lachelor for a few seasons now. Mainly for entertainment after a long day of work. I turly enjoy your daily blog.
In regards to the amount of sipping that goes along with all of this entertainment, it makes me wonder somewhat about the standard this show is instilling in young ladies of all ages that watch it as well. Sad but true, I am not sure it is a standard i would want for the young ladies in my life that I counsel. It also amazes me that young women that seem to have "looks" going for them, seem to sell themselves short through this show.
Although it does not have seemed to have hindered you, as you seem to live a really productive full life.
Just saying.
Sometimes a single girl needs to take Valentine's day into her own hands to make it special! I was recently single and although disappointed I didn't have a partner to celebrate with so my girlfriends and I made it special for eachother. The day started with brunch and shopping. A friend dropped off a bottle of red wine and chocolate as a Valentine's suprise. The evening included a group of great gals getting together to eat gourmet grilled cheese and home made sweet potatoe fries, good red wine and dark chocolate for dessert while watching The Devil Wears Prada. It was the perfect day full of laughs, hugs, old stories and new memories. As one of my favorite Sex and the City Quotes goes:
" maybe we could be each others soul mates. And then we could just let men be just these great nice guys to have fun with."
This line is certainly true in my group of friends, the best Valentine's dates ever!
