Food Fridays: Greens Complexion Smoothie

I love the Greens+ smoothie at Whole Foods and I used to grab myself one every time I shopped there but I quickly realized the $7.00 smoothie was cramping my pocketbook big time. So, I started whipping it up at home instead (and of course made a few alterations).
I've been drinking one of these smoothies every morning for the last three weeks and I've noticed amazing results. Not only do I have great energy, but my skin has zero blemishes and my nails are strong and the tips are a nice clean white! Not to mention ... ahem.... “things” work a little better these days - the whole house has been seeing the results!
Greens Complexion Smoothie
Serves 2-3
Ingredients:
1 cup frozen berries (I use blackberries and black cherries from our family's garden, but Costco has the best and most economical bag. The less strawberries the better as these are particularly high in sugar. Blueberries and blackberries are best!)
1 large banana (Tip: I buy bananas in bulk from Costco or on sale, peel them, break them into two and freeze 2-4 pieces individually in ziplock bags. This way, the bananas never go bad and are always at arm's reach)
1/4 cup Bolthouse Carrot Juice (This is the key ingredient. You might not like the sound of this, but this juice is delicious and the berries are still the main flavor. Also, carrot juice has tons of vitamin A & biotin, both of which are key to healthy hair and nails. Hair and nail vitamins provide 100% Vitamin A and one serving of Bolthouse Carrot Juice has 700%)
1 capful Greens+ Unflavored (This is another key ingredient as it’s just like having a day’s worth of spinach, kale and collard greens - without actually eating them. All of these greens are so good for your skin. I find Greens+ quite expensive though, so if you’re on a budget, I have used frozen spinach or even fresh Kale, Spinach or Collard greens. The berries will cover up the taste, guaranteed you won't even taste it!)
Steps:
1. Blend all ingredients in your blender and enjoy with a straw!
One serving of this a day, or even every other day, and you should be good to go!
Let me know if you try it out! Do you have any other smoothies you love?

This looks perfect for me. I love smoothies and know greens are good for me, but just can not get over drinking something green. I am allergic to bananas. Can you think of something I can replace it with? Any suggestions about where to find Greens+. Is this a brand name or are there other types. Any help you can provide would be great. Thanks so much
So...this is yummy! I had to add quite a bit of water though...and it didn't look anything like your picture! Tips?
This sounded so delicious, I just had to try it. Went to Target, bought a single-serve blender (which is awesome!), frozen berry trio (blueberries, blackberries and raspberries), fresh bananas, Bolthouse Carrot Juice & Amazing Grass Amazing Trio Powder (Barley Grass, Wheat Grass & Alfalfa), I couldn't find the Greens+ at my Whole Foods, so this was my substitute. I added a little bit more carrot juice, probably a 1/2 cup - so delicious! This is my new morning routine, love it!!
I love this!! I couldn't find Greens+, but bought a berry flavored "Amazing Grass Green Superfood" powder from GNC to add. I use a great GNC-branded vanilla protein powder that's got no carbs or sugar, so I threw in a scoop of that and it so good and filling as my breakfast!
Hi Jillian! I've been trying to get an answer on twitter, but haven't heard back yet! :) Just wondering which Greens+ you are using for this smoothie. There are two different manufacturers of a powder that seem very similar called Greens+. The two manufacturers are GreensPlus and Genuine Health! Any advice on which you use for this smoothie would be greatly appreciated!
