It’s the start of a new week and I finally feel like I’m adjusting to the fact that it’s 2016! I’m ready to tackle the new year and I’m starting off by sharing my favourite trends to help make this your most stylish year yet!!!
Let’s face it… trends can be overwhelming. With social media we’re shown the trendiest of the trendiest, and while I love being inspired by high fashion it’s not always something that fits with my day-to-day life. So, what’s a girl to do? Well… I’ve broken down my fave style trends for the new year and am sharing some pieces that are easy to work into your wardrobe. Take a peek and get ready to make some room in your closet!
Rose Quartz & Serenity | For the first time ever Pantone has picked not one but two colours as their colour of the year… and I’m freaking loving it. The contrast of these two hues is to die for and is such an easy way to stay on trend! Try pairing denim with your favourite Rose Quartz inspired sweater or adding a pop of colour with some Serenity tone heels.
Unexpected Fringe | Don’t be intimidated by this trend! Fringe has been a favourite of mine for years and although it can be easy to say “fringe isn’t for me,” just start small! Booties and bags are some of my favourite ways to introduce fringe into your wardrobe… or if you’re ready for a bigger commitment try a jacket or dress!
Cold Shoulder | Dare to show a little skin this year… the right way. This easy transitional trend is perfect for year round style. Think cut-out sweaters, flowy tops and off the shoulder dresses.
White’s Alright | Crisp white tops are an absolute must if you want to make this your most stylish year yet! This trend is a classic and one that you know I’ll be wearing over and over again… because well, while white might not technically be a colour, it’s my hands down fave!
Ruffled Up | Get ready to get your flirt on with this girly trend. Ruffles, big and bold or petite and dainty, are the perfect feminine touch to any outfit.
Suede For Days | Well… faux suede!!! From bags to shoes to clothes, add some texture to your closet this year… and if you want to be a stylish over achiever you can easily mix fringe & suede for a double trend!
Let me know what trends you’re loving in the comments below… I can’t wait to hear what you’ll be adding to your closet this year!
