I’m BACK with another update on funds raised via Cameo! I won’t lie, these Cameos are sure keeping me busy lately but they’ve quickly become one of my favourite things to do each and every day! I love being able to connect with my community. But what I LOVE most is that we are all coming together to help communities and people in need!
A couple of years ago, I connected with Jessica Janzen on social media. For those of you who may not know Jessica, she is the mother of Lewiston, founder of Love for Lewiston and author of Bring the Joy. After losing her son, Lewiston, to Spinal Muscular Atrophy, she started the Love for Lewiston Foundation. Their primary focus is to raise money and help support other families fighting SMA! After connecting with her a few years ago, this was my first time hearing and learning about SMA.
Justin and I recently connected with Jessica and her husband again during quarantine over Instagram to celebrate Lewiston’s second birthday! After our live, I started to hear about SO many babies currently suffering from SMA. Many of these families are desperately trying to raise millions of dollars for this treatment to help save their children’s life.
Where we are donating this months Cameo funds
At the beginning of the month, I announced that all of the funds raised from Cameo for July would be donated to children affected by SMA. This month we were able to raise a total of $6,500. However, I decided to bump it up to $8,000 to try and help all of these families the best we could! With your help, we were able to donate to the following go-fund-me pages for children currently fighting SMA: Life for Lucy, Kaysen’s Quest, Aryan’s Fight, Brave Wyatt, ForEva Strong, My Hero Harper, Cute like Chloe, and Réaliser l’impossible avec Nathan.
