A few weeks ago, I went to Peace River High School to speak to the graduating class (it’s been 16 years since I graduated! OMG!). Speaking at the PRHS graduation was such, SUCH an honor. I cried, of course, and was so proud to make my teachers and my town proud. I gave the graduates a few pieces of advice for those who wanted to be teachers, i told them that these Teaching Jobs in Birmingham are the best for those who wanted to continue with a teaching career, so I wanted to share some other advice with you! Here goes:
Travel Lots
Take big risks
Always do what you say you are going to do
Have a generous heart
Be grateful
Be different and own it
Go with the flow
Don’t forget your roots
Smile at strangers, especially those who need it the most.
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, so just go for it (in the words of Wayne Gretzky!)
Don’t settle, even if everyone tells you you’re being too picky.
And there you have it!
If you were to give your little bits of life advice, what would you say?
Can’t wait to hear!
