Aloha!! I am back after a much needed 11 day getaway to Hawaii with Justin and the kids. Today I really wanted to share with you a vacation style recap of what I packed and what I wore on my trip. Since, this trip was all about trying to unplug, relaxing and having fun with Justin, Leo, and Annie, I packed with comfort casual in mind and added a couple of surprises! Luckily, I did because I ended up chasing the kids ALL over the island LOL!
Let’s dive into all of the pieces that I packed for my 11-day vacay to Hawaii!
Anthropologie Mara Hoffman Violet Dress
Let’s talk about this dress!! If you follow me on social media, specifically Instagram I am sure you have seen one or two posts (or more like 10 LOL!) of this Hawaiian staple! It is an investment piece but worth EVERY penny! I brought this dress with me on our most recent girl’s trip to Hawaii and wore it more than once. This dress would be perfect for a destination wedding or heading anywhere tropical with lots of palm leaves and coconuts.
Billabong Jumpsuit
You guys know I love to wear a romper ANY chance that I get. I purchased this Billabong Jumpsuit before we headed to Disney for my birthday and I am SO happy that I did! It is the perfect piece to slip over a bathing suit or to wear on a breezy day.
Jenna Rae Cakes Tie Dye Spirit Jersey
The lovely ladies at Jenna Ray Cakes sent me one of their Tie Dye Shirts and I am in LOVE! It arrived just in time to pack for this tropical getaway, not to mention that tie-dye is so on trend for this summer (it’s seriously tie-dye for LOL!). What I love about this shirt, in particular, is that it was super cozy to wear on our red-eye home. I love a good fashion meets comfort option, especially when traveling for 13 hours with two toddlers climbing all over you! Jenna and Ashley, the owners at Jenna Rae Cakes also make the cutest macaroons that can be shipped across Canada. They are so delicious… run don’t walk!!
Levi’s Wedgie Short
Finding the perfect jean shorts for summer can be so daunting, am I right? Well, through all of my trial and errors I have narrowed it down to a couple of FAVS that I have in my closet. My holy grail of denim shorts are the Levi’s Wedgie Short (they also make a Wedgie Pant which I am also obsessed with) and any (literally any) denim short from Zara!
Shop The Skinny Erinn Boyfriend Cardigan
This cardigan is EVERYTHING! First of all, the colour is extremely versatile and can easily be styled with so many different outfits. Speaking of styling, check out how Shay styled it 4 ways here. It is also a great layering piece, perfect for windy days and breezy summer nights.
Maui Travel Tip: Save some room in your suitcase to stop by Mahina, a local Maui boutique with a carefully curated selection of clothing PERFECT for Hawaii (and Canadian summers!).
I had to pack rather light for this trip as I was sharing a suitcase with Annie. Completely different than when I packed for our amazing girls trip to Hawaii a couple of months ago. This time around I was on rather tight packing constraints. I really tried to limit everything I was bringing to the bare minimum, so these were the three pairs of shoes that I brought with me; each pair offering something different than the next.
Birkenstocks:
I LOVE Birkenstocks!! But I particularly love the plastic version of the Arizona Eva best. They are perfect for running in and out of the water, chasing toddlers and they don’t get smelly… which is a total bonus!!
Steve Madden Brown Sandals:
These shoes are everything! I have had these forever and re-order them as soon as the soles wear out. I find that these sandals are timeless and I could quite literally pair them with every summer outfit that comes to mind, plus they are super comfortable!
Hey Folks Slip-On Shoes:
Who knew that slip-on shoes and fashion would go together! These shoes are a must-have, not only for travel but in general. My feet thank me every time I slip these bad boys on! Start the car… and grab these shoes, you’ll thank me later LOL!
Billabong White Sandals:
These shoes didn’t arrive in time for our trip, but I was sooo excited to purchase them. They will most definitely be a summer staple, I have to say Billabong is really crushing it this season!
When it comes to swimsuits and coverups, I love a good suit that hugs me in all of the right places. After having kids and becoming a mom my needs in swimwear have changed. The word compression does not sound stylish, but let me tell you these companies are slaying at compression meets fashion looks; Marysia, Summersalt and Imagine Perry.
Marysia
Let’s get this out in the open, I know that this suit is an investment (to be honest… everything on their site is quite the investment), but worth every penny!! No, it won’t fall apart after one wash or lose any durability after it has endured one too many trips to the beach. This suit will soon become your BFF and the brand will become your number one go-to when searching for anything swim!
Summersalt
Another amazing swimwear brand that is really making an impact, is Summersalt. First of all, their swim line AND packaging are all made out of recycled material. How cool is that? Not to mention their entire collection has swimwear for every body type (sizes ranging from 2-22) and the selections are endless. I say that as I add The Tie Belted Cove and The Surf suits to my shopping cart LOL!
Imagine Perry
Bikinis haven’t been on my radar the last couple of years as I am loving swimsuits with more compression and coverage. BUT, these adorable bikinis from Imagine Perry are an exception to my rule. The high rise bottom provides such great coverage and looks so flattering on. This small shop carefully curates each new collection featuring a limited number of patterns and colour offerings, plus, they are made right here in Vancouver, BC!
Leisure The Brand
I also can’t go on any beach vacay without bringing a trusty cover-up. I have been loving the ones from Leisure The Brand, it’s an investment but something you won’t have to replace. They are located right here in British Columbia and there is nothing I love more than an awesome local find.

Whether you are headed on a tropical vacation or if you are anxiously awaiting summer, like me. These items are sure to have you prepared for when the warmer weather arrives!
Bon Voyage!!

Jilly
Hey! The kids were wearing super cute pineapple sweaters on the way down to Hawaii. Could you please share where they are from?
I just got back from Oahu a few weeks ago and I spent WAY too much money in Mahina because I saw that you recommended it! Seriously obsessed with not only their clothing, but the stores themselves & I am highly debating paying the $35 USD shipping to Canada to do a big order for the summer LOL!
Haha I know the store is dangerous, but the selection is just so great! XOXO
Hi Jill! What size are you wearing in the Billabong Romper?
Thanks!
I wear size XS! xoxo
