How You Supported Her International this Month!

That’s right! I’m back with another exciting announcement… our March Cameo update! Each month, Team Jilly and I reinvest the funds from my Cameo bookings into an organization that is making a positive impact! In support of Women’s History Month, we welcomed back Sasha Exeter and The Birds Papaya to the blog to share insight on their careers as successful digital creators and to discuss health and body confidence.  If you did not get a chance to read their blog posts, be sure to check those out!!

Team Jilly ALSO had the pleasure of interviewing Megan Golightly from Go Simplified about her best tips for decluttering and reorganizing your home (and keeping it organized!!). Be sure to give that blog a read for some SUPER helpful tips.  A HUGE thank you to all of the guest contributors this month for taking the time to share insight into your careers and wisdom with our community!

Additionally, with your help, we were able to raise $1,000 through Cameo and reinvest it into Her International.

What is Her International?

Her International is an organization whose mission is to provide further educational opportunities to people living in poverty, particularly women & girls and Two-Spirit & non-binary individuals.

“Her International is fulfilling its duties under the United Nation’s Universal Charter of Human Rights as a responsible “world citizen” in providing educational scholarships and livelihood opportunities to females living in poverty.”

They offer many programs—both internationally and locally here in Canada! Below is a great graphic from their website to illustrate some of their Canadian programs:

One of our shared beliefs as a team at JHD is that we believe that educational opportunities should be provided to ALL people, and we want to do our part to help remove barriers to education for marginalized groups. That’s why Team Jilly and I were motivated to invest this month’s Cameo funds back into the community to Her International—because their mission is to make this possible!!

With that said, it is important to acknowledge that while we make this investment in support of Women’s History Month in March, the work to create gender equity in the workplace and the world more broadly has a long way to go and requires all of our commitment year-round.

For those of you that have booked a Cameo this month or in a previous month, thank you for your support! We are grateful for your contribution to re-investing in so many local and surrounding organizations making positive change!  If you are looking for a unique gift for someone, whether it’s a birthday message, gender reveal, or congratulations message, you can book a Cameo from me here.
