Morning loves!! Mother’s Day is coming up this Sunday! Can you believe it?? If you’re looking for some fun things to do on Mother’s day I have a few ideas that I wanted to share with you that aren’t your average Mother’s Day outings! In fact, as I was writing this blog I noticed that a certain theme popped up a few times … wine and FOOD. Lol! I mean, does it REALLY get any better than that?!
Lets’ take a look at my top 9 ideas …
1. Cooking Class
Because Mom’s don’t do ENOUGH cooking, right?? LOL! A few years ago, Erin Ireland and I went to a plant-based cooking class at The Dirty Apron in Vancouver and we had SO much fun. Even though us mamas tend to always be cooking, this is a different experience … you don’t have to do ANY cleanup, you get to cook then EAT your creations while they’re still HOT (imagine that?! Lol!) and these aren’t typical meals that you would normally cook for yourself so it’s definitely a treat. Oh, and did I mention that there’s also dessert AND wine??
2. Picnic in the Vineyard
Just picture it … a vegan charcuterie board, a chilled bottle of vino and breathtaking views. Sign me UP! Don’t forget to pack a blanket to throw down on the grass along with any glasses, cutlery or plates you may need. Some wineries have delicious cheese, crackers, olives, etc. for sale that you can purchase for your picnic as well and some even have full-blown kitchens. It’s the perfect way to spend a warm afternoon with your fam!
3. Watch a movie at the Drive-In
Yeah, you read that right!! There are STILL drive-in theaters located in some areas! We have a really cute one close by, located in Enderby, BC called the Starlight Drive-In! They play two movies back to back and also have a concession stand filled with popcorn and candy! If you’re in the area and have never been, make sure to get there early (this little place fills up FAST!) and bring along some comfy pillows and blankets so you can relax until the movies begin, they typically kick off around dusk!
4. Go on an adventure
What’s something you’ve wanted to do or see for a while? Something you’ve wanted to check off of your bucket list? Have a think about it and make some time to go and do it with your loved ones. If you live in the area and haven’t been to the Abbotsford Tulip Festival yet, that’s a must see! It’s gorgeous and the rainbow of tulips make the most stunning backdrop for family photos.

Go to the nursery and pick out some flowering perennials that will grow with you and your loved ones! It’s a fun activity for the whole family to search the nursery and pick out something you love that will last for years!
6. Arion Therapeutic Farm
We recently visited the Arion Therapeutic Farm for the first time a few weeks ago and we absolutely fell in LOVE with it! For a very small entrance fee, you can roam around this serene volunteer-run farm and hang out with their adorable farm animals! They also offer plant-based cooking and lifestyle courses!
7. Take a trip to HomeSense
This is one of my favourite things to do when I have some spare time (which is rare these days! lol!). A brand new HomeSense just opened in West Kelowna and it is seriously AMAZING!
8. Work in the yard
There is something so magical about getting your hands dirty in the yard! I’m my happiest when the kids are outside in the yard with me and I’m working on our garden or my flower beds. It’s a great way to disconnect and spend quality time with the family!
9. Get Skip the Dishes
Wrap your day by ordering Skip the Dishes (unless you end up attending a cooking class as mentioned above ?) but sometimes it’s nice to just let someone else do the cooking for you … and also deliver it right to your doorstep! LOL!
What are some of your Mother’s Day date ideas?? Do you have something fun and unique in the plans?? If so share it with us below!

Jilly
Hi Jillian.
Loved the last episode Elena and Brian. I’m wandering about the wallpaper in the entryway and where can I find it. It’s beautiful!! Also the counter stools in the kitchen. Was looking on the post of the episode but could not find anything.
Thank you Pam
Hi Jillian! Another idea is get some moms friends who are childless ( which is my mother’s day gift from my husband) and get a tour to some wineries!
Love these ideas!! We are seriously obsessed with going to home sense as well! Could spend all day there!
TheSundayGals
The biking on the rail trail and Crepes at Kalavida shirt shop in Vernon, BC.
We are doing a family spa day at the Salt Cave….(baby & child friendly) then Daddy takes my son home and mommy stays for some further pampering!!!!
