Repurposing antiques is one of my very favorite things about design. I love finding forgotten items and breathing new life into them and it’s always a thrill to find an awesome piece at a cheap price. Ed and I used to go antiquing all the time and one day at the Antique Mall in Rockford we found this antique wood desk and gorgeous chair (have I told you how much I love chair makeovers?).

I spotted these darlings from afar and knew we’d have a lasting relationship. Not because they were necessarily gorgeous at the time, but because I could see that both pieces had great bones and could easily be spruced up. I scored the desk for $60 and the chair for $30 and eagerly took them home to give them a little makeover.
And here’s what they became:

To get to the finished product I sanded the pieces down then painted them a crisp crème. I replaced the hardware with knobs from Anthropologie (love them!). I’m so happy with how the project turned out!
