Cruelty-Free Beauty Picks

I know a lot of you have been wondering when I would be doing a post on vegan/cruelty-free beauty products. Well … today is the day!!!

I’ve my been working on reducing my animal consumption (you can read why here) and while I’ve talked a lot about how it’s changed my diet I thought it was time to share how it’s changed my beauty routine … with this little nugget growing in my belly I’ve been extra cautious about every product I use on my body!

It’s CRAZY how many beauty products are actually tested on animals … I feel a little silly for not realizing this sooner, but hey … better late than never, right? I won’t get into the details of it all but let’s just say that “testing” is a very kind word that is used to describe what is being done to all the innocent animals. It’s definitely made me think about what products I use on a day-to-day basis. I’m still human and will never be perfect when it comes to all of this but I have found some AMAZING beauty/wellness products that I’m loving that are all 100% cruelty-free!!! For example, Zoe Organics and their all natural, ethical products have been a pregnancy life saver and I love love love Saje for all their amazing essential oils! Take a peek at some of my favs below, I hope you’ll love them as much as I do!

1. Bite Agave Lip Mask | 2. Saje Arrive Revived Mist | 3. Dry Bar Mr. Incredible Leave In Conditioner | 4. Zoe Organics Mama’s Ritual Package | 5. Wild Hill Coconut Milk Bath | 6. Saje AromaOm Nebulizer | 7. GloMinerals Suede Matte Crayon | 8. GloMinerals Contour Kit | 9. Anastasia Brow Wiz | 10. Kapuluan Organic Virgin Coconut Oil

Also, if you’re wondering what beauty brands are cruelty-free, PETA is a great resource. You can check out their list of animal friendly companies here.

Ok that was a long one but you survived! I’d love to know if you have any cruelty-free beauty favs? I’d love to check them out. Let me know in the comments section below.

  1. Jane Iredale make up has the hopping bunny = cruelty free, TARA spa essential oils and bath salts say right on the packaging ‘never tested on animals. Never. Ever’ and sparitual nail care products are famously vegan.

  2. I’m so proud of myself, I already use 5 of the products that you have listed in your beauty routine..:)

  3. I use Arbonne and LOVE their products . Vegan , cruelty free , no gmos plus the only carbon nuetral company in the industry ??? . I’m hooked , you should definitely give them a try !

  4. Indie Lee Calendula eye balm – life saver ! & Lush ultra balm for chapped lips (replaces Vaseline – ew how did I ever use that on my skin ?)

  5. Rocky Mountain soap company is a really great 100% natural and cruelty free company. They are also a Canadian company and all their products are made in Canmore, Alberta. Their hair care products are amazing and they have a mom and baby line too. Definitely give them a try.

  6. Thanks for the recommendations! I have been a fan/user of GloMinerals and Anastasia for years. Can’t wait to try some of the others!

  7. Thanks for doing this. You recommended a few brands that I didn’t know we’re cruelty free and vegan.

  8. Awesome tips Jillian, thank you! Just a question though (not critism) but the Zoe Organic Mama ritual soak says not to use it if you are pregnant?

  9. Jillian Harris……just wanna say i Applaud you for being so dedicated and brave with sharing your journey with us! You are an amazing person, soul aand everything else in between. Keep going girl. ????❤️❤️
And to all the negative comments…. She is sharing her views with you…..thats it…..dont hate!

  10. Arbonne is my definite FAVE! One of the reasons I started my organization with them is because they are certified vegan AND cruelty free and they have been for 36 years. They have VERY high standards as well as amazing prices for prestige products. I got hooked during my first pregnancy and changed all of our consumable products over to the products they offer…will never go back!!

  11. Check out Nuciya (Canadian!!!), as well as Petit Vour for high quality, sometimes green beauty, but most importantly cruelty free products!
I also love the brand 100% Pure 🙂

  12. Earth Mama Angel Baby is another great vegan, CF and natural brand, and I’ve even seen a few of their items at Target if you don’t want to wait on shipping.

  13. I’m a bit slow on seeing this @jillianharris…. but my fave hair product as of late is Monat. It’s vegan, cruelty free, gluten free, no PEG, DEA/MEA, no parbens, no sulphates, no phthalates, or harsh colours/fragrance. My hair feels like silk! And because it’s so clean, it’s safe to use pregnant, breastfeeding and on your kids!! It’s not Canadian made but is pretty awesome hair treatment system. Comparable prices to highend salon brands with a lot less junk. ?

    1. Nootka and Sea – beautiful curated boutique and beauty products made in house.
Pop by if you’re in the area!
