The owners of Color Me Inc

Hello! We are Yusef (13), Omar (11), Ali (10) and Karim (9).  We are the proud owners of Color Me Inc. Color Me Inc. is located in London, Ontario inside the Market at the Western Fair District. We started Color Me Inc. just two years ago, offering life-size coloring pages which is very exciting because we bring joy to people of all ages!

The idea for Color Me Inc. came to us while we were spending a lot of time at home during the COVID outbreak. Despite enjoying the outdoor activities we did, we were exhausted after so much time spent online for school. We asked our parents for help finding giant colouring pages after we realized small colouring books were getting boring. It was challenging to find images and animals that were culturally diverse, particularly for holidays like Eid and Ramadan, as well as other culturally diverse communities.

Using social media, we connected with artists around the world who came on board. We then researched printers who were willing to work with us. When a volume increases, printing on large paper becomes difficult and physically demanding.

It was not a simple job to find a printing company willing to take on the task. As young entrepreneurs of Color Me Inc, we had to find the right artists, a local family-owned printing company, and convince local farmers markets to allow us to lease space. The motivation to take on this big step was simply due to the amazing feedback we received from family and friends. It’s still a learning experience for us as new entrepreneurs.

Once at the market, we had to give up our weekends. While giving up our weekends was tough for us, we wouldn’t trade it for anything. Our customers are phenomenal. They regularly provide us with positive feedback. The Colour Me Inc. colouring pages appeal to all ages. They also make tough times a little easier, especially when they are life size.

One of the best experiences is giving back to our community. We share our colouring pages with the local old age homes, the Boys and Girls club families and our teachers at school. It’s humbling to be able to help others. And in honour of this blog post, we have made a donation to The Boys and Girls Club of London and Childcan organizations that are very near and dear to our hearts.

Our goal is to inspire other young children and serve as an example for them. We believe that if we can do it, so can you! Being young entrepreneurs is not easy, but it can be really rewarding and fun.

Make sure to stay in the loop with Colour Me Inc by following us on Instagram!

XO

Yusef, Omar, Ali and Karim!
