Rachelle and Tim’s home was in an AMAZING neighbourhood but it was far past its prime. As soon as I walked in, I knew I was up for a challenge. The layout was extremely choppy and there wasn’t much square footage for me to work with. I needed to somehow make their tight budget work so they could fall back in love with their home. I was able to totally transform the main floor but needed to rebuild the front stairs and the back porch so it would pass inspection. We had a few major set backs that didn’t allow me to even touch the bathroom. I tried my best to get creative with the layout so I could sneak in an extra bathroom for them but the budget just wasn’t working in my favour.
I do have to give it to Todd though … he was able to find them a really cool house that ticked off all of their boxes. It was near the same neighbourhood, was spacious, and move in ready. They didn’t need to lift a finger or make any adjustments. I honestly don’t blame them for wanting to move ….
We were able to transform the kitchen thanks to Merit Kitchens and I loved the amazing cabinets that they created. We finished it off with an all white look with Silestone by Cosentino countertops. The entire space felt bright, fresh and airy and blended itself into the character of the home.
We opened up the dining room and had Shilo Living build in custom wood shelves to their nook to use and save some much needed space.

Where did you get the gorgeous wooden chairs that were on the back deck? Thanks! I want a large wooden chair for the corner of my living room, any suggestions?
