Gina & Jeff had a good-sized home, unfortunately, part of the home was a covered deck that they used for office and storage – aptly named “the trailer”. The space was there but the aesthetic and function… well that was certainly lacking! Jillian saw a diamond however in this lump of coal and, with Megan and the rest of the LIOLI Vancouver design team, she turned this main floor into a dream come true for the homeowners.
There was no saving the trailer as the roof wasn’t even a roof but a corrugated metal awning – a relic from when this part of the house was a deck – and so it had to all come down. A bit of a big job on LIOLI Vancouver timelines but with great contractors… anything is possible!
Merit Kitchens supplied us with an elegant custom kitchen in a simple shaker door front, in a fresh white. The island, in order to create some visual interest, was done in a medium dark wood. Gina & Jeff can now enjoy a generous kitchen and bar area, complete with island for guests to gather for drinks and cocktails. As you’ll often hear Jillian say… “it’s all in the details” and it couldn’t be more true when it comes to selecting tile and cabinet hardware – these details can make the space! World Mosaic Tile has been a great supporter of LIOLI Vancouver, supplying us with stunning tile throughout the season. We selected a hand-cut glass tile in shades of greys, taupe and soft whites to pull on the cabinetry, the woods and the countertops.
Berenson Hardware has also been a generous supplier for LIOLI Vancouver and we love working with them as they have some really lovely cabinet hardware. For this kitchen we opted for elegant chrome cabinet pulls, tying in the chrome fixtures, appliances and faucets with the rest of the finishes in the space. The new dining room is now prominently situated overlooking the manicured garden below, taking centre stage beneath the vaulted ceiling and elegant chandelier. Carrying out the stylish and sophisticated theme, Megan spent hours hunting down vintage silver trays that she and Jillian thoughtfully laid out on the wall as an effective and charming feature.
Another area of the house that took on a grander state was Gina & Jeff’s master bedroom and ensuite. Jeff had dreamed of a large steam shower for years – and so we gave it to him! Stunning tile from World Mosaic in yellows and greys draw you in to this sanctuary, beautifully illuminated with a new skylight. Merit Kitchens provided a beautiful custom vanity in a medium wood tone and the shower was designed to suit Jeff’s dream – we think we delivered!
Gina & Jeff also really wanted a walk-in closet, and – thanks to the people at STOR-X Organizing Systems – we were able to provide them with a roomy closet in their former bedroom. With custom jewelry drawers and plenty of space for clothes hanging, this closet is both stylish as well as functional.
And of course, their master bedroom – also a newly vaulted room – needed some extra “wow”. When Megan found this incredibly rich wallpaper it was an obvious way to go to give this room both character as well as a statement!
One of the larger projects done on LIOLI Vancouver, Gina & Jeff’s “trailer” renovation couldn’t have turned out any more dramatic – we turned corrugated metal awnings into vaulted ceilings and a storage bunker into a steam shower, an incredible transformation for a wonderful couple.
A big thank you as always to Janis Nicolay for the gorgeous photos!!

LOVE the wall of silver platters!!
This is gorgous. LOVE the wall tile in the kitchen.
beautiful job ! I’m dying to know where the grey dress Jillian is wearing at the end of this episode is from! Anyone???
It’s from Aritzia!!!
No windows in the Kitchen, rooms don’t appear well proportioned. poor storage in bathroom. Dining table unable to be expanded to accommodate more. Large budget for basically a new kitchen and bedroom with ensuite. Does this show use an Architect??
WOW! Everything is beautiful. I love the back splash in the kitchen and that shower is amaze-balls!!!
How did you attach the serving trays?
So pretty! Where is the rug in the closet from?
Could you tell me what you used for the kitchen counters? The whole design is beautiful!
Hi, can you tell me more about the dining room chandelier?
That dress was everything!!! Is it still available?
Any insights on how to pick a nice fresh white for wall colour? Do you have any brands/ names that you could give me? Thanks!!!
