Melissa’s Nuts & Bolts Recipe

If you’ve been around here during the holidays, you already know that there are a few traditions that we never skip… and right at the very top of that list is making the beloved Nuts & Bolts mix.

This recipe came into our lives thanks to Melissa, who is the BEST nanny to our kids and has truly become a part of the family. She made it for us one Christmas and ever since, it’s been a non-negotiable tradition around here.

So if you need a crowd-pleasing, crunchy, salty, totally addictive holiday snack to munch on while wrapping gifts, watching holiday movies, or hosting friends… this is the one. And yes, I highly recommend doubling it, this one goes fast every time!

  • Pour the seasoning mixture over the dry mix and toss until everything is coated.
  • Spread the mixture evenly onto two full sheet pans.
  • Bake for 2 hours, stirring occasionally if you can.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  • Stir in the Corn Chips and Cheezies at the very end so they stay extra crunchy.
  • Store in a sealed container… or try to, if your family doesn’t get to it first!
