As I creep towards the big 4-0, I find myself investing in dresses that are not only playful, fun, and colourful but also those that are classy and timeless, and more importantly, those that are versatile! The two dresses that I’m featuring here both have this vintage, classy, 50’s housewife feel (which remind me of Betty Draper) and they’re BOTH from Modcloth!! When I first started shopping at Modcloth I was in a younger state of mind and I would have totally looked past both of these dresses but now that I’m a bit older, I have a new appreciation for their vintage vibe!! I love the belt, crisp collar and button down front on this adorable Cherished Era shirt dress (plus, I LOVE the mustard colour!!) and the colourful plaid fit and flare dress comes with pockets (ALWAYS a win for me!) and is available in THREE different patterns!! Style
As the years go by, my body shape and size tends to fluctuate more now than it ever has before so it’s nice to find a dress that looks flattering no matter what your body style is!! I love the fact that they are timeless and form fitting which makes them so sexy and perfect for any occasion, whether you’re headed off to work, a meeting, or even a casual dinner party with your girlfriends, these dresses are always a great option … not to mention, the length of them are great for this transitional (chilly!) weather as we go from winter to spring!
Quality
I’m always impressed with the quality of Modcloth’s dresses, I personally find that they are well lined and have sturdy stiching!! There’s nothing worse than ordering a dress online, having it delivered and FINALLY trying it on only to find that the quality is poor … it’s such a bummer, and I certainly know this feeling from experience!!
Price
Most of these dresses can be found for under $150 on Modcloth which is a great price when you know you’re spending it on something that is good quality, versatile (dress up or down easily!) and oh so FLATTERING!!
