6 Ways I am Practicing Self-Care in 2021!

There’s no denying that ringing in the New Year looked VERY different for everyone this year. While it was a quiet one, it allowed me to really set out my intentions for 2021. As we all know, 2020 was quite the year, and as a business, we knew that our community needed our help more than ever before, so we shifted gears, refined our goals and values, and started focusing heavily on how we could give back and help those in need. We added a lot more to our plates, and while it was so fulfilling it also left me with a packed schedule and little time for self-care. 

One of my intentions that I set for myself this year was to prioritize self-care! Self-care looks different for everyone, but today I wanted to share with you 6 ways I’m practicing self-care in 2021!

1. Connecting with Loved Ones

Last year we got really creative in how we were staying connected with our family and friends! Whether it was jumping on FaceTime on the weekends to chat with my mom and dad, socially distanced outdoor gatherings on our driveway or our weekly team calls to check-in, we made it work. This year, a few Thursdays each month, I have blocked out an hour at lunch to connect with all of the most important people. Although I wish we were sipping on a Bellini at Cactus club, I’ve resorted to a phone call instead while we are still in quarantine. BUT, I can’t wait to (hopefully) hug all of my favourite people again soon!

2. Diffuser Blends

To me, when it comes to self-care, there is nothing better than turning on my Saje Wellness diffuser and adding a few drops of my favourite diffuser blend. Whether I am tidying the house, responding to emails, or just having a moment to myself, they have a diffuser blend for every mood.

3. A Morning Smoothie

When the New Year hit I knew I wanted to switch out my morning coffee for a smoothie instead. Now, don’t get me wrong, once I polish that off whip myself up a warm cup of coffee. 4. A Warm Bath 

Dipping my toes into a warm bath, adding my favourite bath salts and locking the door so the kiddos and dogs can’t get in is the ultimate self-care ritual if you ask me! LOL! There is nothing a warm bath and a glass of wine can’t fix!

My all-time favourite bath salts are the Saje Wellness Stress-Release and Sleep Well bath salts. If I’m feeling a little anxious, I throw in a handful of the Stress-Release salts into the tub to help soothe my mild anxiety and restlessness. Within minutes I feel relaxed and uplifted while the bath salts work their magic. I don’t know about you, but there is nothing like getting out of the tub and applying body butter from head to toe! If I’m headed to bed, my favourite body butter to apply is the Sleep Well body butter. Although, recently, I have been struggling with some back pain… I think it has something to do with staying up until 2 am trying to beat Justin’s Pac-Man score! 5. Putting Down My Phone

During our holiday vacation, I had so much fun bonding with the kids and spending quality time with Justin, and when it was time to go back to work, I felt a little guilty! One of the intentions that I have set this year is to put my phone away in the evenings and soak up all of the quality time I can get with Leo, Annie and Justin. Throughout January, one of the things that I have really enjoyed is playing with the Pac-Man arcade game that my dad gave Leo for Christmas. I am on a mission to beat Justin’s high-score; wish me luck 😂 🕹

6. Self-Care in a Bottle

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I LOVE Saje Wellness and have been working with them for the last several years.
