My Favourite Gifts that Give Back

I’m so excited to share today’s Gift Guide with you!!! Today it’s ALL about highlighting a few awesome companies who love to give back and who have equally amazing products!! Along with giving experiences and sentimental things, giving gifts that give back are my TOP fave gifts to give over the holiday season!

There’s no denying it FEELS GOOD purchasing and gifting something that you know will not only make the gift receiver happy, but that same gift will also be helping OTHERS too!! I mean, you can’t get much cooler than that … not to mention, a healthy dose of good karma comes along with that too and that’s something I think we can all get on board with!

Well, having said that, let’s take a look at some of my favourite gifts that give back and HOW they benefit others!

These tassel earrings are made by SASA Designs located in Kenya! In Kenya, roughly 85% of the deaf community is unemployed with women facing heightened discrimination and mistreatment. Sasa Designs by the Deaf was founded in 2011 to combat the stigma of deafness, and to offer jewelry-making jobs to deaf women who otherwise may never have been able to earn a living.

7. Pendant Necklace

This gorgeous pendant necklace is handcrafted and made from recycled brass by artisans in Kenya! This necklace is available for purchase via SOKO! SOKO is a mobile-enabled “virtual factory” which helps artisans in the developing world get noticed and sell their items online which allows them to earn more!

10. Reusable Straw Set

By now I’m sure you’ve noticed that many places are banning plastic straws so, if you are a fan of straws and want one that is not only reusable but also helps eliminate plastic straw waste worldwide, then you need this reusable straw set from WWF Canada! Plus, all net proceeds help support conservations projects.

11. Getaway Bag

The Getaway bag was made in Ghana by a company called AAKS. AAKS fosters community development and creates sustainable employment opportunities for local female weavers. AAKS employs these women, and offers zero-interest loans as well as employment, empowering them to become financially independent, building their lives and communities by supporting local markets.

12. My Kindness Calendar

My Kindness Advent Calendar is a new Christmas tradition for every family who wants to focus on giving this holiday season. Like a traditional advent calendar, My Kindness Advent Calendar helps you countdown to Christmas during the month of December, but instead of getting a chocolate or toy, each day is an opportunity to give an act of kindness.

There you have it! I hope some of these incredible gift ideas have helped INSPIRE you to not only check some items off your shopping list but have also inspired you to give back to others as well.

If you know of an amazing company that gives back, please feel free to give them a shoutout in the comments section below so we can check them out!

  1. Hi I would love to sponsor family this season as well I’m not sure what or who to contact so I’m wondering if you could please help me out I live in the lower mainland (Coquitlam) area 🙂
    Thank you

  2. Jill you were asking about the Lego. We had four sons completely addicted to it. We had buckets. My husband build a table the perfect height for Little munchkins. And then he put in 10 Lego boards inside of it. So they could build a lot of Lego and have a lot of pieces on that table. Underneath I did baskets with all the different sizes and pieces in it. You can also build a lego wall with the same Lego boards. Not a tidy but very cool . So there’s lots of options. GOOD LUCK. LoL

  3. Love these photos. From the beach to the ones in the snow, from just at home or far away, here or there for the day, Streets of Paris or wherever you choose to roam. Just love them all.

  4. I LOVE the idea of the Kindness Calendar!! And I am definitely going to check out the reusable straw from WWF because I donate to them on a regular basis and I think it’s awesome that they’re selling them!! Thank you so much for sharing Jillian!!
