The Jilltini: My Holiday Twist on a French Martini

The holidays are officially here and you know what that means… I’ll be whipping up batches of my famous Jilltini cocktail all season long! This cocktail has more history than I ever expected. Years ago, when I was serving at a restaurant called Melrose, there was a drink on the menu called the Field of Dreams and it was always my favourite. I loved it back in the day without ever really knowing what was in it. After a little research and a whole lot of taste testing, I discovered that it is essentially a French martini with a splash of cranberry. Simple. Classic. A little nostalgic.

The beauty of this drink is how perfectly balanced it is. It’s juicy, it’s cold, it’s fresh, not too sweet, not too tart. The type of cocktail that goes down a little too easily. Let’s just say it is dangerously chugable. The kind of martini you want on New Years Eve, at a dinner party, or for a fun girls night!

So without further ado… here is the recipe for my favourite holiday cocktail of all time: The Jilltini.
