A New Kind of Bachelor Trip: Wellness, Wilderness, and the Unexpected at Nimmo Bay

After 8 years of engagement, Justin and I are FINALLY tying the knot! While we’re still a few months away from the big day, there is so much that needs to be done, and one of those things is celebrating each other’s bachelor and bachelorette parties! Justin recently escaped to Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort, one of the most beautiful and serene places in the world. Over the years, I’ve shared lots about my love for this stunning location (which you can read all about here), but this time, Justin and his closest friends got to go there for his bachelor party to unplug, unwind and relax. I’ll be honest, if you told me a few years ago that Justin and his friends decided to go on a wellness retreat for his bachelor party, I might not have believed you, but I LOVE that this is what they chose and I’m so impressed by the way they’re prioritizing their health!!! Below, Justin is going to take you through their experience at this very special place, and share all the reasons why you have to add this destination to your bucket list. Justin, take it away!

Before I begin, I want to extend a huge thank you to my brother Matt Pasutto (my best man) and the first class staff at Nimmo Bay for organizing and making my dream come true. It was truly a transformational adventure, lets get to the details.

Forget the cliché Vegas bachelor party. This is the new era — where the backdrop is remote wilderness, the vibe is wellness, and the memories are deeper than a hangover. Nimmo Bay isn’t just a destination; it’s a reset button for your mind, body and soul. And for this bachelor, it was transformational.

The old school way of bachelor and bachelorette trips I think is over, or at least being reconsidered, or perhaps this may encourage you to try health and wellness for yours.  No more predictable bar crawls, hang overs or matching t-shirts. This was about connection, nature, and feeling alive all while eating the best and exploring the deep wilderness the PNW has to offer. Health and wellness took center stage — with daily yoga, unmatched views, hot tubs, natural waterfall cold plunges, elevated wilderness to table dining and deep nature immersion replacing the chaos of cities, late night street food  and clubs. Not to mention the incredible friendly staff.

A Trip That Changed Everything

I didn’t go expecting a single thing other than a good time, No one honestly did and I think to some extent that was the why it turned out so good. Just trusted the process and enjoyed the present moment.  When I left my soul was replenished, mind reset, and body fully in tune. I got everything I was hoping for — and 50 times more. I felt great. I was thriving. I was finally able to chill and relax the nervous system to prepare for more golf 😉

What Did We Actually Do in Nimmo Bay?

Nimmo Bay tailors itineraries based on what you want — no two trips look the same. Their team works with you to curate your experience. The highlight? You don’t just see nature — you live in it.

Here’s a peek at what one of our itineraries looked like:

  • 5am: Morning routine (you guys know what this looks like for me) You don’t need to do this either, you could sleep till 10AM if you want and than start your day. Or simply just stay in your cozy private cabin and read all day.
  • 7am: Yoga
  • 8:30am: Breakfast (All the food is world class, it is truly is Michelin star quality)
  • 9:45am: Massage wellness journey
  • 11:00am: Water activities, this included kayaks, paddle boards and water bikes
  • 12-3pm: Kayaked over to the sauna dock for lunch and wellness activities. We got to sauna and cold plunge while enjoying the insane views the PNW has to offer.
  • 3-5pm: Boat adventure, sight seeing and fishing. We explored old floating towns and got to hear more of the incredible history from this area.
  • 7pm: Dinner, we enjoyed world class canapés, local BC wine and everything was made to perfection.
  • 9pm: Melody Room, sit relax, listen to your favorite record or in some cases live music, some of the staff have some hidden musical talents that come out after dark. Nimmo Bay also features local artists on occasion so if your trip happens to overlap with that your in luck.
  • 11:00pm: Bedtime
Sound bath in the rainforest

Everything we did was a highlight:

Spending time on the floating sauna dock:

Picture this: You’re sitting on a floating sauna dock with a living room wellness vibe surrounded by misty fjords. Sea lions bob nearby, jelly fish float throughout the water (friendly ones), Bears stroll along the shore. You’re not just in nature — you’re part of it. This was next-level immersion in the Pacific Northwest.

Exploring what the area had to offer:

While we fished, we also got to explore more of what this beautiful place had to offer. We explored Sullivan Bay — a floating town that feels like a dream. Boat tours and snorkeling were on tap daily, and every hour brought something new.

An unforgettable culinary experience at the Ocean Table:

Lunch at the Ocean Dock with a private chef preparing our catch: fisherman’s soup, carrot bread, asparagus, and artichoke
with a champagne toast to wrap up lunch.

Snorkeling:

Following a guide, we were swimming around in wet suits to explore the tide pools and truly see all the beauty up close.

An Unexpected Moment

Now, here’s where things got deeper than expected. I had never pulled an oracle card before and to be honest I’m not really sure where I land on this still. But during my first massage of the trip, the massage therapist asked me to choose one. I drew a frog card — symbolizing reset and cleanse.

The next day? I pulled a humpback whale card — a sign of storytelling, finding your pod, reconnecting. Then on the last day, a deer card — love, compassion, and time with the people who matter most.

It hit hard. Every card mirrored my internal experience. On the last day, I asked everyone in the group to pull a card. Each one landed perfectly. The universe had a message, and Nimmo Bay was the messenger.

A Trip That Changed Everything

I didn’t go expecting a spiritual awakening. No one did. But when I left my soul was replenished, mind reset, and body fully in tune. I got everything I was hoping for — and 50 times more. I felt great. I was thriving. I was finally able to chill.

FAQ – From my DM’s on Instagram:

You guys flooded the DM’s with a bunch of questions, so here are the top questions answered:

Q: How do you get there?
A: It’s remote — in the best way.

  • Fly commercially to Port Hardy, BC.
  • Then take a short 20-minute floatplane.
  • Or arrive by helicopter for the full cinematic moment.

Q: Is it all-inclusive?
A: Yes. Food, activities, guides, and most wellness treatments are included. Just show up ready to unplug.

Q: Is it worth it?
A: 1000%. You leave with more than memories — you leave with transformation.

You go to Nimmo Bay expecting peace and quiet. You leave with clarity, connection, and something you didn’t even know you needed. Whether you’re planning a bachelor trip, a wellness getaway, or just a life reset — put this place on your list.

Justin
