DIY Crystal Bottle Toppers

Morning loves!! Guess who’s back? Back again? Sousa’s back … tell your friends!! LOL … In all seriousness though, I’m sooo excited about today’s blog because it’s another ADORABLE DIY post by the lovely Erin Sousa, Founder and Creative Director of Sparkle Media! So, I’m not going to waste any more time, Erin, the stage is YOURS!!

LOL!! Hi Everyone, Erin here!! Mother’s Day is around the corner, and I love a good ol’ heartfelt handmade gift for Mama, don’t you?! It brings me back to the days where you used to make her a card and something cutesy in middle school – these are definitely the adult version, though! So nostalgic! These easy crystal bottle toppers are literally a one-step DIY that looks so unique and trendy! Mom (or you, let’s be honest, you might wanna keep these for yourself!) can use them to serve wine, spirits, or even water during a dinner party. They store so nicely on a bar cart to show off, too. I promise you that once you have your supplies, you can whip this together in 5 minutes! Here’s how …Jillian Harris x Erin Sousa Crystal Bottle Topper DIYJillian Harris x Erin Sousa Crystal Bottle Topper DIY

1. Supplies:

  • Bottles with cork or wood bottle stopper (I bought these at The Soap Dispensary on Main Street in Vancouver – they have SO many cool bottles – but there are plenty of options on Amazon)
  • Crystal and geode pieces (I found all of mine at Crystal Ark on Granville Island, but again, Amazon to the rescue with plenty of options!)
  • Mixed Media Glue (look for something that is for mixed media specifically so they glue your rocks on properly)

2. How to:

This couldn’t be easier! Decide which stone fits best on which top, (ensuring you have enough of the rock touching the stopper to adhere it!), and apply the glue to the stopper in a thin coat. Remember, they aren’t supposed to sit on straight, the off-kilter look is what makes these look so cool!

Press the rock onto the stopper and then place the stopper into the bottle, allowing the glue to dry and set for 24 hours. Be gentle – the rocks are firmly adhered, but they aren’t cemented on – if anything comes loose, just reapply with your glue, easy peasy!

  1. YAY!!!

I LOVE a good DIY and I do have a growing collection of gems and crystals! Now I know how to use some of them!

  2. Love this idea! I’m a crystal reader and have oodles of stones in my office where the bar just happens to be… All I need now is some glue.
