Not only did Mom and I make Chicken Rice Soup, we got out the cocoa and whipped up this family favourite… Puppy Poo’s! You may know them as Haystacks or Unbaked Cookies, but I remember them as the oh-so-classy… Puppy Poo’s! But they are SO good, you have to get out a big bowl and give these a try…

Peggy’s Puppy Poo’s… AKA Haystacks!
This was a favourite treat that my mom used to make when I was a small child and it’s still a comfort food for me!
In a large bowl mix together:
3 cups of oatmeal (not instant)
1 cup of coconut
Then prepare the following ingredients in a pot:
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup milk
2 cups of mini marshmallows
Bring the ingredients above to a boil for approx. 1 & 1/2 minutes to 2 minutes & then pour over the oatmeal & coconut. Drop by a large tablespoon onto parchment or wax paper. Let cool several hours & then enjoy!

These look delicious!!! Going to pick up the ingredients tomorrow, think my crew will love them!
Recipe didn’t work for me. Followed it to a T but they never hardened so all i have is piles of goo. Taste good but doesn’t really qualify as a cookie.
