With St. Patrick’s day and spring right around the corner AND with my newly discovered love for colour in kitchens, little pops of green have been catching my eye lately and making me green with envy. So my gears have been turning and I’ve been thinking of subtle ways I can incorporate more green in my home … rather than going FULL tilt and painting my WHOLE kitchen green … even though I freakin love the kitchen pictured below … it still might be too big of a leap for me to take … at this very moment! Lol!!
If you’re looking to brighten up your space and give it that FRESH spring feel, below are a few easy ways to do this in ANY home without any drastic changes to the colour of your walls…
Accent Pillows: Accent pillows are the best decor because you can switch them up as much as you like depending on what colour or patterns you’re digging at the time. There are some really cute faux fur accent pillows and green patterned pillows that can instantly add a nice pop of colour to any couch, chair or loveseat without feeling like you’ve gone overboard!
Area Rugs: A very quick way to add a nice bold colour to multiple rooms in your home, whether it’s your bedroom, living room or bathroom, there is always an opportunity to spice things up on the floor … with an area rug, that is … LOL … get your mind out of the gutter … or is it just mine that’s always in the gutter?!
Greenery (Obviously! Lol!!): I don’t think I need to say much here … lol!! I love having fresh flowers in my home, not only do they smell amazing but they also freshen any space up. Succulents are perfect to add a little pop of green to any desk or side table. The bonus? They are VERY low maintenance. You can even purchase fake succulents that require NO maintenance … I can get on board with that!
Appliances: From fridges to mixers to toasters there are many appliances (big and small) that are available in various colours from green to yellow to pink … this might still be a little bit of a stretch for me still but I LOVE when people have cute coloured appliances in their home, I think it adds a fun twist to everyday life!!
Decor: Add some life to your space with coloured lamps, clocks, chairs, etc. You name it, you can find it in a fun colour!
I also went online and checked out a few of my favourite stores and found a bunch of fun items below that can help you bring green into your home … I don’t know about you, but I’m digging mint green right now!!
