If you have been reading my Home Tour Series you’ll know that I tend to start my room tours off with “this room is one of my favourites” and I’ve come to realize while writing these blogs is just how much I really do love my home (even with the deficiencies and nuances that drive me crazy!), I’m truly grateful for it. And to continue the tradition … I’m going to share my master bedroom details with you today … and this room is … ONE OF MY FAVOURITES!! LOL!!
Our bedroom isn’t a huge room, it’s just big enough to fit a king size bed, two side tables, and a dresser! Some people like to make their master bedrooms so massive that you can fit a fireplace and a sofa in them but that’s really not my style, I like my bedrooms to be cozy … not so big that you feel lost in them!
As far as furnishings go, mainly everything in this space is from The Cross Decor & Design, I had decided to partner up with them to style my bedroom as they have the most beautiful, romantic decor, hands down. Like my pink bed, for example! LOL! I’m sure some of you are sitting there wondering how the hell I was able to convince Justin to agree to a pink bed, and, well, I convinced him that pink is an aphrodisiac (??) and that he would get more “you know what” if we had it in our bedroom … and needless to say, he fell for my wicked ways!! LOL!! It’s worth giving it a try ladies …
I absolutely love our side tables from The Cross, they fit perfectly on either side of our bed and they have a secret drawer at the top to store your electronics and to plug in your phone! And how about the beaded chandelier?? It’s actually named after Shay and it’s so dreamy, it really puts the finishing touch on our room! Also, I know MANY of you have asked where you can get my metal “Goodnight” sign, and you can find it on Etsy, here!!
I’m obsessed with all of the natural light in the space, I’ve always seemed to have bedrooms that have only one or two small windows so when I had the chance to design our room in this home I wanted to make sure lots of light could flood in. So, we installed two big french doors from Plygem and if this wasn’t enough, we also added two sidelights on either side of the french doors! This gives us an entire wall of windows which is framed by beautiful linen drapes from Q Design which is a total dream come true!
The sun has been rising even earlier lately (thanks to this long-awaited warm weather!) so Justin and I have been getting up around 6 am as the sun pours into our room … and the best part about waking up to the sun is the fact that is that Leo’s room has blackout blinds so this tends to buy us a good 30-45 mins of alone time each morning before he gets up!!
In addition to a natural alarm clock, there’s really nothing better than waking up to the sunshine in the morning and looking outside your window and catching the sunrise … or the snowfall (I know, we don’t want to talk about winter right now … but it’s so pretty!). We actually planted a mini orchard right off the deck and I can’t wait to look out onto these when they start to bloom! We can also see the pool from our room along with a little peekaboo view of the lake!
Our bedroom in our last house had wainscotting halfway up the wall and I loved it so much that I decided to carry it on through to this home, special thanks to the team at Metrie who was able to pull this off for us! The flooring in our master bedroom is the same flooring we have throughout most of the house, which is Cinder from PurParket. All of the spotlights are from Sylvania, and as far as paint goes, we went with Cloud Cover by Benjamin Moore!
We decided to carry the beams from Urban Roots Furniture into our bedroom, you’ll find the same ones in our living room, kitchen, and dining room and I’m in love with them. I find the older I get, the more I love a rustic feel … I think I’ll likely have beams everywhere in our next home! The framed pictures in our hallway are from Framebridge, one of my favourite things to do is to walk past these photos with Leo and look at them, I love having framed images of special moments and people that I love hanging where we see them every day.
Moving on to the walk-in closet, this is actually the first and the biggest walk-in closet I have ever had and obviously, now I’m addicted to them! I feel like no walk-in closet is ever pegged as “too big”. Walk-in closets are like fake boobs … once you have them, you always want to go bigger! LOL! I’m not speaking from experience but that’s just what I’ve heard!! LOL!
I love the dressers on either side of our walk-in closet, one is designated for my things (such as swimsuits, maternity jeans, underwear … you name it!) and the other is for Justin’s items! I also love the cabinetry in this space, it was definitely a must-have as I really wanted a place to store my heels and Justin’s cowboy hats and that’s exactly what we got thanks to Clarice Maidment from Kelowna Home Image Interiors for designing them and to Kelowna Innovative Cabinets for bringing them to life.
I don’t actually use the upper cabinets much because they are so tall and I can’t really reach them so I like to display seasonal items up there along with my regular pants in the baskets as I’m currently only wearing maternity ones until this October! If I had to break it down, I would say that about 1/3 of our walk-in closet is Justin’s … and the rest is mine … LOL! The windows in this space are also from Plygem and the roman shades are from Q Design!
Ps. If you want to check out more of my closet, make sure to check out my closet tour, here!

Gorgeous! Can you tell us the paint colour used in the bedroom? I know it’s Benjamin Moore but can you share the colour? Also, where is the dresser from in your closet from? Love all of your spaces! Thanks.
Cloud cover is the paint and the dresser/cabinets were made by Kelowna Innovative Cabinets!! xo
Hi Team Jilly!
Do you have a ball park idea of the square footage of your master, closet and bathroom?
Thank you ?
Did you switch out the area rug?
Yes I did!! xo
Jillian – a lot of thought and love was put in to your bedroom and the end result proves it as the bedroom is beautiful and I wow your closet is awesome. I am a big fan of roomy closets and wish I had more room. I also go through my closet every year and donate what I know longer wear.
How do i do what you do? A blog. With sponsors. I want to do one for the senior crowd about growing older, lifestyle, etc…i dont know wherr to start. Any advice?
This might help! https://jillianharris.com/blogging-aint-easy-10-tips-successfully-launching-brand/ XOXO
I’m in love with your bedroom… but I have to know where is that adorable laundry basket on wheels from? The wire one with the liner beside your dresser? Freakin love it!!!
It’s from HomeSense but there is a similar one at World Market! https://rstyle.me/n/cnke6kzb96 XO
What colour did you use for all of your doors and trim?
Absolutely LOVE!
Walls are CloudCover what’s the trim colour? Same? Different finish?
Thanks.
I have a larger bedroom and I would have liked to cut down the size of the bedroom to make a larger closet. The little sitting area we have doesn’t really get used so it is just a waste of space. Next house will be the right one! Thanks for your inspiration!
I noticed the sheepskin rugs in the photos, but see you didn’t comment on them or link where they are from. Are they real sheepskin?
What size are the frames on your wall? Are they square or rectangle?
Hey Jillian,
Happy Mother’s Day!!! Beautiful bedroom!! I love it! I need your help. I have a small extra closet with a h vac System on the left side wall. Don’t know what to do with it. Any advice?? Thanks,
Emily
Can I ask what color you used for the trim?
Love everything about it!!! Where is the mirror above your dresser from?
Hi Jillian & Team! Beautiful room!
A bit of a random request here, but where did you find your curtain rod? I have a long wall of windows and having the hardest time finding a rod long enough to cover the entire wall!!
Thanks!
Hi Jillian! I love your room! I have 9 foot wide doors and I am doing drapes on each side. I can’t decide whether to use a think 3/4″ diameter rod or a 1 1/4″ rod. I love the look of the window treatment on your french doors in the master. Do you know what diameter rod you used? Thanks!
What color did you use on the trim and the ceiling to go with Cloud Cover? I am in the middle of a home renovation myself and your house is major inspo! <3
Thanks!

Do you mind giving me the dimensions of your drawer chest? I’m obsessed with it but it is no longer available at The Cross so I’m looking to get one made!
Nicole
Love everything in your home! Can you tell me if you have Cloud Cover throughout all the rooms? Also, what trim color did you use? Thanks.
I listed all of my paint colours in a previous blog!! Here is the link: https://jillianharris.com/10-tips-selecting-paint-colours-home/ XOXO
Jillian, I am absolutely in love with your bed!
Is their a “Jillian discount code” we can use to make our dreams come true!? Please!!!
Xo
No I don’t have one!! Sorry!!!!
Jillian, Curious on how you got your pictures framed from Framebridge when they don’t ship to Canada?
They are planning on shipping to Canada soon!! You can sign up on their website to be the first to know when they launch this, if you like! https://framebridge.typeform.com/to/cQN576
Amazing space!! Absolutely love it!! What is the square footage of a master bedroom like this? I
You’re pillows look super soft and comfy….where do you buy them? I’m desperately looking for new pillows for my bedroom and not having much luck. Is there a specific brand you like?
Hi Jillian!
Love your style and colour choices! We have just painted our master bedroom Cloud Cover. Did you notice it having a more creamy look initially when it went on the wall?
Maybe it’s just the lighting. Fingers crossed it looks like the paint chip when fully dry!
Thanks!!
Julia
I was excited to order framed photos from Framebridge as per Jillian’s endorsement but they don’t ship to Canada? I would suspect you have a large Canadian audience so confused as to why endorse an American company you can’t purchase from. I was very disappointed.
Just wondering if you could detail which baseboards and casings you used by Metrie? Thank you!
Hi Jillian! What size is the rug in your bedroom (area rug)? I can’t tell if it’s 8×10 or smaller. Thanks and I LOVE your adorable family and design style!
Where is the mirror above the dresser from? Beautiful!
So beautiful! Random question, I noticed all your perfumes in your pretty closet – have you found some favorites that aren’t full of harsh chemicals? Curious as I know you are into a cleaner lifestyle 🙂
Love your master bedroom vibe. In the process of picking a white paint colour for our master. Do you recommend using the same white on the walls and trim? When is it okay to mix white walls and brighter white trim?
Thanks!
Mardi

Hi this pink bed is adorable! I have settled on cloud cover for my bathroom I’m wondering what Color is on the trim?? Thanks so much!!
Jillian I just adore your house and your style. When you did the wainscoting did you use Cloud cover as well or a contrasting white? I’m currently house shopping and my wheels are spinning for future renovations plans!!loved meeting you at the conference in Toronto
Xo
We used cloud cover for the wainscoting as well! xo
