Stephanie and Nick know their 1960’s home is in need of some updates and while Nick is willing to sell and find a home that works better for their family, Stephanie is keen to stay and I’m determined to help her out!!!
This family of four have been in their home for 2.5 years, they are in a fantastic area and the lot has a massive yard which is excellent for the kids but the layout in the home is a little bizarre and fairly closed off. In order to help this family out, I need to renovate the kitchen and Nick’s studio, finish the laundry room, refresh the living room and dining room and update the rec room … AND add an office for Stephanie!!
We did hit a couple of roadblocks which didn’t allow us to complete ALL of the items on my list but I am BEYOND happy with how this reno turned out!!! Grab your coffee and take a little peek at these reveal images with me!!! …
Let’s start in their new DREAMY kitchen … take a look at the white wash oak flooring, it’s so stunning and gives this space a chic, stylish look!! We gave Stephanie and Nick some amazing new stainless steel appliances from a great Steel Fabrication company, custom cabinetry, and a gorgeous penny round backsplash from Olympia Tile + Stone!! We also integrated their brand new dishwasher right into the cabinetry, just to the right of the beauty farmhouse sink.
The new updated lighting in their home is from our friends at Design Lighting and I honestly cannot decide which fixture is my favourite … from the kitchen to the dining room to the living room, each one is so unique and adds a different feel to each individual space!!! I’m also STILL drooling over this faux brick feature wall in their dining room from the Eco Floor Store!!!
In the living room we ended up removing the hearth on the fireplace and replaced their wood-burning fireplace with a gas fireplace and surrounded it with custom tile for a fresh, contemporary look!! I also made sure to add closed storage in the living room for the children’s toys!!
The sun even decided to come out during our reveal and it shone down on their gorgeous brand new massive deck … how bad do you want to go sit down on that sectional, kick up your feet and sip on a margarita?? I’m sure this new outdoor space will see it’s fair share of warm summer nights … if that Vancouver rain holds off for them from time to time …
Thank you, thank you, thank you to Janis Nicolay for the incredible photos (as per usual)!!
