Those of you who have been following me on social media over the last 4 years will know how much I LOVE Halloween! It is not only my favourite holiday to decorate for, but I love getting creative and planning our family Halloween costume every year!
Last year, we took a family trip to Disneyland for my 40th birthday, you can read all about that here. My favourite part of the entire trip (that I never thought I would love!) was a Galaxy’s Edge theme park. It was the most unreal experience of my life. Everything from the vegan food, to the details and design, was completely thought out. It made our entire family fall in love with Star Wars. So much so that we even redecorated Leo’s bedroom in a Star Wars theme. PLUS, it was the inspiration for this year’s family Halloween costume!
From the moment that we fell in love with Star Wars, I instantly wished I had brought an empty suitcase to buy all of our Halloween costumes! LOL! Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough room and the only costume that I ended up buying was Leo’s Storm Tropper and Annie’s Rey costume. Fast forward to 6 months later, I realized that in the end, her costume wouldn’t work out because it was too cold out! 😭
That’s when I jumped on google and started franticly searching for Star Wars costumes for our family (yes, dogs included!). I found this insane Darth Vader costume for Justin online, but it was wayyy out of my budget! So, I decided to reach out to the company Halloween Costumes to see if they would partner up with us. They ended up supplying us with my costume, Justin’s costume, the pup’s costumes, and Annie’s new Ewok costume! It was seriously such a convenient one-stop-shop for all of our Halloween costume needs.
The day finally arrived to shoot our annual Halloween costumes and it was a complete sh*t show! LOL! Now that Annie is old enough to run and walk we really had our hands full. The entire shoot only took about 30 minutes to complete, but it felt like an eternity. If it wasn’t for the help of Shay, Mindy, and Rachelle the shoot would have gone horribly wrong! LOL!
In the end, Rachelle (our photographer) worked her wizardry photoshop magic. She has even included a screen recording of how she edited the final photo below, check it out! I am so happy to reveal our 2020 Halloween costumes to you today!
Well, there you have it, our 2020 family costume reveal! What do you think we will dress up as next year?
