My Summer 2021 Bucket List!

Summer is HERE and with all of the restrictions finally easing up in BC, it couldn’t have come at a better time. This Summer I am SO excited to soak up those sunny rays and make lots of memories with our sweet little fam! With that, I thought I would share my Summer 2021 bucket list with you! While this bucket list isn’t wild and crazy like you might expect, it’s filled with things that make my heart happy and so grateful to get back to some sort of normalcy!

For those of you that are still under tight restrictions, I am hoping and praying that you can still find a few ways to enjoy your Summer. If you’re local to BC and looking for some ideas on how to enjoy a Summer in a pandemic, make sure to check out our blog from last year, here! If you are curious about our rollout plan here in British Columbia you can take a look at it, here. Having said that, here is our Summer 2021 bucket list!

1. Moutcha Bay Resort

I am so grateful to be planning a fishing trip with my dad at Moutcha Bay Resort sometime this Summer. If it works out it will be so nice to spend some quality time with my dad, doing something that he loves!

2. St. Eugene Golf Course

If you follow Justin on Instagram chances are you may have seen that he visited the St. Eugene Golf Course a few weeks ago with his dad and brother, Matt. Unfortunately, I had to miss out on the trip, but just this past week Justin and I had the opportunity to experience St. Eugene together along with our photographer, Rachelle! It was such an emotional experience, the resort has so much history and I am so grateful that they allowed us to visit their space!

3. The Farm

We are obviously going to spend lots of time at the Farm this Summer. At the very top of my bucket list, or wishlist rather is hoping that my flowers actually grow and with some miracle, I will figure out what to do with them! LOL! If you are just learning about the Farm, you can check out the Farm Reveal (here!) and some IG accounts we have been following for tips, tricks, and inspiration (here!). Ps. If you have an idea of what I should do with our cut flowers, make sure to leave a comment below!

4. Cutting Back My Work Hours

This Summer I am doing something that I have NEVER done in my life, I am cutting down my work hours substantially! I am going down to working three days a week in July and two days a week in August. I didn’t take much of a maternity leave with either of the kids so with Leo going into Kindergarten in September, I really want to spend as much quality time with them as I can. On top of that, there is no denying that this last year and a half has been difficult on so many, while we have so much to be grateful for I am not going to lie I am feeling the effect of burnout. This Summer I really want to be grateful and be present and soak up every moment with my sweet lil fam!

5. Weekly Date Nights

Justin and I just committed to going on weekly dates, which is huge for us and our busy household. We have decided to do something with each other (sans kiddos!) one evening every week. Whether that’s golfing, hitting up our favourite restaurant for dinner or enjoying a glass of wine on our patio, I couldn’t be more excited about it.

6. Painting

On Mother’s Day, we did a Plein Air Painting, which is an outdoor painting session at the farm with my mom, my auntie, and Tori. It was such an incredible experience and something I would love to do again before summer ends!

7. Girl’s Weekend

For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you would know that a few of my best girlfriends came to Kelowna a few weeks ago and it was just what the doctor ordered. We had such a fun time even though we may have indulged a little too much throughout the time they were here! LOL! In fact, we had so much fun together that we are planning to do it all over again later this month!

8. Reading & Learning

This summer I plan on finish reading the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which I’m about halfway through. It’s something that I have started reading and I hope it won’t take me all Summer to read. Along with that I also plan on learning more about Canada’s history, the stuff we weren’t taught and continuing to support our local indigenous community.

Well, there you have it, my Summer 2021 bucket list! I really excited to take it easy this Summer, enjoying more quality time with Justin, Leo, and Annie, and maybe even start working out (but don’t hold your breath on that actually happening!) LOL.

  1. Hi Jillian I own a company called Lady Bug’z Lifestyle Assistant Ltd. we care for seniors in our community. I started a program called Flowers with Smiles where we give flowers every week to our clients I purchase from a flower farm here in Delta. I can not tell you how much joy it brings to our seniors. Maybe this would be an idea for your flowers. 🥰🐞🌻

  2. Hi Jillian, you posted a few weeks ago a photo where you were in an arcade I believe with this machine that has a chicken in it that lays eggs. I adored that machine as a child!! Can you tell me where in Kelowna that was so I can take my kids there when we visit in a few weeks? I’m sure they would get a kick out of it and it would warm my heart to see it again❤
