This Year’s Unexpected Holiday Decor Addition!

November has come and gone and our 12 Days of Giving Campaign is in full swing. So, there’s no time like the present to share ALL of the details on how I decorated my home for the holidays this year!

I decided to do something different this year with our holiday decor and decided to keep everything NEUTRAL and I absolutely love how it turned out. From cognac ribbons, to light oatmeal and blush pillows, blankets, and ornaments. I was able to incorporate a lot of my already existing home decor as well as all of the neutral holiday items that I already had along with greenery and wreaths, and a FEW new items that really took our holiday decorating to the finish line. I hope this blog gives you some inspiration as you deck your halls and decorate your homes for Christmas this year. Grab a cup of hot chocolate (or maybe some Gluehwein) and let’s dive in below as I walk you through what I used this year!

Living Room

As you can see, I gravitated towards a more timeless look by incorporating brown and neutral tones throughout the space. This year, I really decided to change things up and move away from the nostalgic red that I’ve used for previous years (however, I still LOVE pops of classic red, especially in the kids rooms).

One of my favourite decorating tricks from this year was tying silk bow on the Christmas tree instead of using cardinals and tinsel. It added a touch of femininity and really completed the look that I was going for. I also used my favourite wooden star ornaments from Crawford Creek Designs and I carried the star theme throughout other ornaments that I picked up along with a few new neutral faves that can be found here!!

The two shelving units in the living room are one of my favourite spots to fill with festive holiday decor such as these beautiful mini homes and brush trees. Most of the mini homes I own have been gifted to me over the years but a few (pictured above) are from Monika Hibb’s Home Store this year!

I love to layer our fireplace mantle with my mirror from Anthropologie and one of our most popular Jilly Digital Winter Prints; Winter Wishes! What I love most about styling with prints is howI can simply pop out the old print and add a new one to reflect the updated season! We recently  released our Digital Wallpaper Bundles that allow you to display our art on your Smart TV!

Dining Room

I decorated our tablescape this year in shades of cream and dusty pink and incorporated gold accents to the table by adding my gold cutlery from The Cross Design along with these Ribbed Coupe Glasses from Indigo. The long garland in the center of the dining table is from Monika Hibbs Home Store along with the wreaths that are hung on doors behind the table. No table is complete without a gingerbread house as it’s centrepiece thanks to The Cake Mama!

Bedrooms

I slightly changed up our bedroom this year by replacing our neutral duvet cover with this Coco Linen Duvet cover in the colour Berry from Maison Tess! They have generously offered to share a promo code with all of you as well, use code: Jillianharris15 at checkout to receive 15% off your entire order!

Last year I started the tradition of adding a Christmas trees to both Leo and Annie’s rooms. I chose to decorate their trees with more nostalgic ornaments full of life and colour for them. We even gave Annie’s Mouse House a holiday makeover! Make sure to stay tuned as I plan on sharing the official reveal with you soon!

There you have it, I hope you enjoyed that short but sweet recap and are feeling inspired as you decorate your home this season. Is anyone willing to guess on what I will do next year? Will I keep the brown/neutral palette or will I go back to my classic nostalgic vintage reds?
