Three Major Tips You Need to Know When Pitching a Brand


What is the first thought that comes to mind when you think of putting yourself out there? Is it fear? Excitement? Are there things holding you back from doing so? Putting yourself out there can be life changing, all it takes is the confidence, believing in yourself and the magic in your offerings. Part of putting yourself out there is creating relationships that will help nurture your path to success. A mantra we like to live by is connection over competition, so we’ve put together three of the biggest tips when pitching a brand to ensure your going after the right partnerships in the best way! 1. Do Your RESEARCH

This partnership or collaboration needs to benefit BOTH parties. Ask yourself, do their values match yours? Have they worked with similar businesses in the past? What does this opportunity look like for the both of you? Does your target audience exist in theirs? 

Remember, you’re the one reaching out and understanding their brand is just as important as understanding your own to ensure this relationship can blossom and go the distance. We promise this extra effort will never go unnoticed!

2. Make it TURN KEY

The last thing you want to do is ask the brand to do anything so making the process as turn key as possible will be the game changer!

To stand out from the crowd consider making a customized pitch deck, this shows you mean business! Showcase who you are, what you do and the value you’d bring to not only the business but to their community as well. This is also where you’d describe the types of opportunities that could exist. HOT TIP: mentioning that you’d be happy to customize the opportunity to fit both parties could open more doors!

3. Master the Art of the FOLLOW UP

Let’s face it, everyone is BUSY and sometimes it comes down to the inboxes overflowing with not enough time in the day to get back to everyone. This is where the art of the follow up comes in! It’s the balance of being patient and showing you are serious about building a relationship. Usually, just doing one follow up to bring it to the top of the inbox is all you need to do. We highly recommend avoiding reaching out more than a few times as you don’t want to be a pest. Sometimes, you just have faith that if it is the right fit it will happen.

HOT TIP: If the brand gets back to you and doesn’t have any current opportunities, we recommend still following their journey to see if anything comes up in the future. Timing is everything when it comes to building these partnerships!
