1. Do Your RESEARCH
This partnership or collaboration needs to benefit BOTH parties. Ask yourself, do their values match yours? Have they worked with similar businesses in the past? What does this opportunity look like for the both of you? Does your target audience exist in theirs?
Remember, you’re the one reaching out and understanding their brand is just as important as understanding your own to ensure this relationship can blossom and go the distance. We promise this extra effort will never go unnoticed!
2. Make it TURN KEY
The last thing you want to do is ask the brand to do anything so making the process as turn key as possible will be the game changer!
To stand out from the crowd consider making a customized pitch deck, this shows you mean business! Showcase who you are, what you do and the value you’d bring to not only the business but to their community as well. This is also where you’d describe the types of opportunities that could exist. Let’s face it, everyone is BUSY and sometimes it comes down to the inboxes overflowing with not enough time in the day to get back to everyone. This is where the art of the follow up comes in! It’s the balance of being patient and showing you are serious about building a relationship. Usually, just doing one follow up to bring it to the top of the inbox is all you need to do. We highly recommend avoiding reaching out more than a few times as you don’t want to be a pest. Sometimes, you just have faith that if it is the right fit it will happen.
