4 Affordable Outfits to Wear This Spring!

Hi everyone! It’s Peggy and I am SO excited to be back on Jillian’s blog again today. Two blogs in less than two weeks … can you believe it?! After a highly requested fashion post, I am back today to share FOUR spring outfit ideas that I can’t wait to wear!

Let’s get right into it!

1. Oversized T-Shirt Dress

I LOVE wearing dresses, especially oversized dresses! I like to think of my style as somewhat simple and casual, but the thing I love most about dresses is that you can quite literally dress them up or down. With this look specifically, I decided to dress it up and add my favourite sunglasses, from Shady Lady (that were in the Summer 2020 Jilly Box!), a piece of costume jewelry, my all-time favourite sandals from FitFlop and a leather jacket just in case you get a little chilly!

2. Pink Raincoat

One of my go-to pieces for Spring is a raincoat. It goes without saying, finding a stylish and effective raincoat, can be quite the task, but I think I found the perfect one for Spring. I will reach for this outfit while running errands, to the farmers market, or even an outing downtown. Add your favourite pair of leggings, a basic top and you’re good to go.

3. Faux-Leather Pants

I am loving this faux-leather trend! Since I’m roughly 5 foot nothing 🤪 , I tend to gravitate towards leggings and or tapered pants whenever I can because they usually don’t need to be altered. Since Spring weather is unpredictable, I love this outfit for socially distanced outdoor events or even just lounge around the house on a cooler day. If you are hoping to support a small local business, Jillian got me a pair of faux-leather leggings from Fox + Wit and I absolutely LOVE them, make sure to check them out (they ship throughout Canada and the US!).

4. Oversized Long Sleeve

I don’t know if you can tell, but I’m totally on board the oversized clothing trend! One of my favourite pieces that I picked up for Spring is this wide striped oversized long sleeve. I added my favourite pair of jeggings and combat boots to finish off the look.

Well, there you have it! Four of my favourite outfits that I can’t wait to wear this Spring!

Until next time!

Peggy

  1. I would love to know where your white top you had on in the pics from the blog in the summer was from. LOVED IT!

  2. Awh Peggy! Such a confident smile. I love it! Kudos to you! My mom hasn’t cut her hair (and I’m guessing managed her brows) since COVID lockdowns and I’m 3,000 miles away from her! I know she’s in a funk! I’ll share this post. May it brighten her day and inspire her! 😁❤️

  3. Peggy, you’re so darn cute and I love the outfits you modelled. So glad that us “senior” girls can see what looks terrific on us as well.

  4. Peggy, I love your choice of outfits! I love dressing this way too, oversize tops and leggings. The pink raincoat looks amazing. Comfort and classy you look awesome and that pink raincoat looks fabulous! Thanks for sharing, for those of us who are in our senior years and really don’t want to look it!

  5. Great job, Peggy! I love the looks and really love that they are affordable! You look stunning in all the photos! Like a ray of sunshine!
So nice to see you on the blog again!

  6. Thank you for sharing Peggy! I love you outfits and will definitely add some of your ideas to my wardrobe. Especially love the raincoat.

  7. Peggy you look fabulous and I love your content here. I’ve followed Jillian for some time now and I enjoy everything you both share.

  8. This post is exactly what is needed and is what is missing from fashion segments on tv. I’ll try to be concise with my points.. Most feature mature women who are having a special occasion and dress them in a wear-one-time outfit. I think most Canadian women have Peggy’s lifestyle and want to see clothes and shoes for walking, shopping, visiting friends, casual meals, possibly all of the above with grandchildren along. I’m retired, have money to spend, but need far fewer clothes.
If she is willing, please consider regular fashion posts with Peggy. I find one suitcase travel packing difficult particularly for Europe or any large city hotel stay.
    Thank you.
