Over the past couple of months, we’ve been diversifying our social media feeds and following some amazing accounts! These influencers have not only brightened our feeds but have taught us many lessons surrounding diversity and inclusion! Today, we wanted to share with you 5 of our favourite accounts that we have been LOVING and why!
1. Shayla Stonechild
This lovely lady has quickly become one of our favourite accounts to follow and support! Shayla is a TV Host of APTN’s documentary series “Red Earth Uncovered”, Yoga Instructor at “CMMN GRND” and the founder of the “Matriarch Movement’‘ a meditation and movement platform dedicated to bringing awareness to the “Missing and Murdered Indigenous Womxn and Girls” crisis. A few weeks ago, we had Shayla takeover our JHtheBrand Instagram account and loved every second of it. She shared with us what her morning ritual looks like (and even inspired us to think of our own morning routines!). If you missed her takeover on Jhthebrand make sure to check it out in our highlights!
2. Coach Carey
Raia’s positivity and zest for life radiates through everything that she does. As soon as we connected with her, her contagious energy remained with us for the rest of the day and put the biggest smile on our face. As a Life Coach and Motivational Speaker, she shares her journey on losing 300lbs, while always embodying the same level of confidence throughout. Her goal is to help others achieve and maintain confidence using the steps and methods based on individual/group needs. If you haven’t already given Coach Carey a follow on IG, what are you waiting for?! Your Insta feed will be filled with the most positive vibes and encourage you to make your dreams a reality!
3. Rf Cuisine
Rich is an indigenous chef and shares a variety of insightful and inspiring content on his page. A very eye-opening insta story he shared was that a can of Chef Boyardee Ravioli is $19 on some Indigenous reservations. We have learned over the last few months that on most reservations they have a very limited source of fresh food and processed food is very expensive! We are grateful to have discovered Rich’s account and we are excited to learn how we can help support the Indigenous communities throughout Canada!
4. Rachel Ricketts
Rachel is an educator, lawyer, healer, speaker, and author and we have learned (and unlearned!) so much by following her account. On her Instagram account, you can find thought-provoking captions and beautiful images to initiate conversation and the continuing movement of unlearning injustice and inequality surrounding Black and Indigenous Womxn. We discovered her account a few months ago and keep gravitating back to it for continued learning and unlearning surrounding diversity and inclusion!
5. Sasha Exeter
Sasha inspires us to get our butts moving each day (she has some of the best workouts, be ready to sweat!). Her account is filled with workout videos, fashion finds, healthy lifestyle tips and of course a few videos of her sweet daughter, Maxwell (that will seriously make you belly laugh, she’s so sweet!). Not only is she an amazing source of inspiration, but she is very open and authentic, which we love!
If you haven’t checked any of these accounts out yet, we highly recommend doing so. They will brighten your feed and inspire you to do great things!! Over the next few months, we can’t wait to have some of our favourite accounts take over the blog and brighten our feed!
