You guys … it’s FINALLY HAPPENING!! Starting TODAY and every week from here on out, I’ll be releasing details on every single room in our home!! I know you’ve been patiently waiting for our home tour and I’ve been eager to share it with you so I’m happy to finally kick things off!!
Today I’m going to start this Home Tour Series with one of the smallest but one of the most beautiful rooms in the house! The spare bathroom!! This was one of those rooms that started off with NO inspo!! I knew I wanted a bathroom close to the pool so people could use it without going through the entire house and it didn’t have to be anything special buttt it sort of evolved into something really unique after doing a bathroom refresh during Love It Or List It Vancouver. We had pulled off a black frame shower and I TOTALLY fell in love with it and you guys KNOW my obsession with all things white!!
I totally wanted to pull off this look … I wanted our bathroom to give off a vintage New York hotel feel and I knew that if I went through with the black frame shower that this bathroom would look the best with a mix of white, beige and black accents. I wanted people to feel like they were on vacation when they used it! I actually had the black frame shower done locally by a local shower manufacturer … if this is something that you would like to have in your own home, you should just be able to show your local shower manufacturer a photo of this one (or a similar one) and they should be able to make it for you!!
Overall the look of our spare bathroom slowly evolved and I think it came together beautifully. However, I felt like it was still missing something and that’s around the time I came across the gingham removable wallpaper from Target!! It totally completed the space and it’s super inexpensive!! Win-win!!
I also wanted to give a nod to Justin in this space which is why I incorporated the word “scrub” in the floor out of the “Tender Grey” penny tile from Olympia Tile! The subway tile in the shower is from Olympia Tile as well and I absolutely looove it!! It’s the series “Oxford” in 3×6, 3×12 and the chair rail. The tile is a great foundation for the space and it’s also heated with in-floor heat thanks to the folks at NuHeat who installed it for us! There’s something to be said about stepping out of the shower onto a warm floor or running to and from the pool in the spring and fall and warming your chilly feet on the tile!! The range, shower head, sink, and faucets are all from Kohler along with the railroad black shelf above the toilet! Also, the shower and ledges are all from Caesarstone!
The white round mirror and the sconce are both from Wayfair with lighting from Sylvania! Actually, the sconce originally came in silver and I realized when it came in that it would look better in that space if it were black so I ended up taking it to a local car painting company and they painted it black for me!! The baseboards and trim are from Metrie and the hardware in the bathroom is from Emtek! The window in the bathroom is from Plygem and I have to say, I absolutely LOVE this company, their customer service is outstanding and they ended up being one of my favourite partners from the whole project!
I know that many of you are probably eyeing up the stool, the towels and the coral art and the truth is, I lucked out and snagged them ALL from HomeSense!! I freakin love that place!! LOL!!
Well, what do you think of our first reveal?? Make sure to share your feedback below and let me know which room you’re most excited to see!!

Very very beautiful!!
beautiful! love the feel of this bathroom 🙂
Hi Jillian,
I don’t know if you will be able to read this in time to help Leo but I saw your Instagram story about his potential ear ache and I have a natural remedy that can be used in conjunction with any treatment you decide upon if needed. My babe of 11 months had an ear infection after travel when we arrived at our destination and had to also postpone the flight. Because it was while we were there I was desperate to get it better ASAP to get home . A naturopath recommended this and it has worked for some of my more seasoned moms!
You sauté a clean organic olive oil with some organic chopped garlic on a low to medium heat in a pan. Once garlic is infused let it cool and seperate any remaining chunks of garlic. Use a warm cloth as a compress on the ear for comfort (sometimes they initially fight it and then realize it is soothing). Use a medicine dropper or a small syringe and gently put a few drops of oil inn the ear while child lays on side with affected ear up. Repeat 2-3 times per day. It is a natural antibacterial, antiviral, anti inflammatory and because of this also helps with pain for the child . It really speeds up the recovery❤️( if you don’t mind them smelling like a little garlic clove for a few days! Love and prayers he gets better soon so you can enjoy your trip!
I can back up this remedy 100%; it works great for adults too. We were on our honeymoon in Costa Rica and my husband had plugged ears the whole trip. After researching for a few days and a lot of pain on his part, we asked the kitchen to cook up the concoction for us and it solved his problem in one use!
His ears got clogged up again on the plane ride home so he went to the walk-in-clinic. What did the doctor prescribe? Olive oil drops!
Hope he’s feeling better!
Love it! Is there a picture of the floor? I’d love to see the design with the penny tiles.
Yes!! I just added it in!!! XO
Very nice. I can’t wait to see kitchen and living room
Hey Jilly! You make reference to a lot of stuff not actually pictured (Scrub on floor, the stool, edges of the black framed shower). Any chance you could post more photos of the rooms in the future?? Feed our obsession <3 <3 Thanks!
Hi TJ!! I’ve gone in and added more photos!! You should now see everything you asked about!! XOXO
I love your sink! I’ve been looking for something like that for our powder room. ( off our living room/ kitchen, It’s a small space so I thought it wouldn’t look so small if I had a floating sink. ?
I’ll have to show the hubby lol
Thanks for sharing ?
Love it. Amazing what bodyshops will do, we had one do a wrought iron kitchen set for us!
So excited you are starting the home tour of your place! I love love love this space!!! The colours work so well together! You didn’t show the floor, well just a tiny little glimpse of a corner! We would love to see the “scrub” action!!!
We put in floor heating in our bathroom space when we renovated, and I must say, it is one little luxury I would not want to part with now!!
So….what is the name of the sink?
Love!! I don’t see the “scrub” Tile, is there a pic of that?
Hi Robyn!! I just added it in!! XOXO
Absolutely gorgeous. I love the dark shower frame❤️
Love it Jill.. GREAT idea getting a car company to paint the fixture.. then no pitting.. peeling or problems from moisture! Have to remember that in my design projects. Love your ideas.. I always learn something from you.. ❤❤❤
Beautiful!! Thanks for sharing ?

Love the shower and the wallpaper. Oh and the coral art and the taps. I guess I love it all. Wish every day that love it or list it Vancouver would come back. Any chance you’re coming back to TV?
Hi Sandy!! We’re starting to film in March!!! XOXO
Does that mean you are back on Love it or list it? I haven’t heard the news here in Australia. Yippee if you are.
Ohhh I’d love to see a picture of the ‘srub’ on the floor! Loving the black shower frame and will be doing something like that in our future home!
Hi Ally!! I just added it in!! XOXO
Leo’s ear infection. Warm up T Tree oil. Just a bit. Put a drop in his ear and hold him so it goes into his ear. Get a warm water bottle and lay his ear on it tonight. Also a warm blow dryer into the ear Will not only make it feel amazing but it calm him down. We had four sons and one of them had so many ear infections at L’s age that he had tubes in his ears twice. This was our magic year good luck
I hardly ever comment, but I had to write and say that I’m so EXCITED about this series! One of the reasons I visit your blog is to see pictures of your home! This first reveal does not disappoint, that shower stall is gorgeous! Can we see a picture of the “scrub” penny tile?
Can’t wait for each and every room!

My hubby and I are building again soon and I am totally using your kitchen and pantry for inspo. I love love interior design, its my dream job. Anyways, you are totally adorable and I have followed you since I fell in love with your cute self on the Bachelorette. My favorite thing about this room was the black shower!

This bathroom has inspired me to finally remodel my boys bathroom. Thank you!
Love, love, love it. Can’t wait to see the rest of your home. Thank you Jillian and Justin for sharing it with us.
Beautiful! I love the sink. I do not see it on the Kohler link you posted. Do you know the name of it?
Thank you in advance.
Here’s the link Debbie https://rstyle.me/~ajLJB XOXO
Love the look of that bathroom. Have always wanted black frames-it was inspired to use them for a shower. Gorgeous work!
Hi Jillian!! I absolutely love the bathroom !! How could anyone not feel so fresh , clean and spoiled in that space !!! The bonus is the shower doors ! Brilliant !! ❤️
I LOVE IT!!! You paired the colors SOOOO beautifully. And the look is timeless. Very retreate like!!!-Amber
I LOVE THIS!! You made it look so timeless and very retreat like. Beautiful-Amber
Hi Jillian!!
I’m in love with the faucet and sink!! ??Question, the faucet would you say it is close to a polished nickel/chrome finish?? On Wayfair it looks more “brushed” so just wanted to check 🙂
Thank you!! 🙂
Hi Jillian!
This is beautiful. Love the wall subway tiles – are they not completely straight? The look uneven/wavey in the pictures (love!). Also did you use two different sizes, one for the top and one for the bottom of the shower?!
Thanks!
Anita
This is such a beautiful bathroom. Wow! And I work for Ply Gem over here in Ontario so thanks for the wonderful shout out! What an amazing compliment for our Kelowna team.
My goodness this is gorgeous!!! I’ve never seen it on your instagram, I wasn’t sure it was yours at first. HA HA!!! Just stunning. LOOOOVE The shower door!
Can I ask who the company was who made you shower door? We are renovating our bathroom and this is the shower I would love! But every company I’ve contacted says that you can only get it from a company in the states! I live in Edmonton, and BC would be much easier then ordering in something from the US!
I looooove your house!! All the little details make it extra-ordinary instead of just ordinary… but then everyone knows you would NEVER be just ordinary! Thanks for letting us in and sharing with us. xo
Love it! It looks crisp and clean and modern, my favourite the light fixture!
Amazing! That black frame shower is beautiful… I would stay in there all day! Lol. And, I love, love, love the wallpaper!! Didn’t realize Target carried wallpaper. Is it easily “removable”?
Welcome back Jillian! Love the spare bathroom & looking forward to seeing all other rooms.
Love this bathroom! I am also dying to know this! I have called at least 10 different glass suppliers in the kelowna area and none of them seem to know how to achieve this. I’d much rather order from someone who has done this look before rather than test it out in my new house, so would love love if you could share ? ?

Where is the toilet paper holder from?
Where’s the toiletpaper holder from?
HI Jillian,
LOVE how your spare bathroom turned out! I am Obsessed with steel framed shower doors. I was wondering if you could share with me the company that made the doors for you. I am having a really hard time finding a supplier.
Xo, Steph
Great question Stephanie! I would love to know the answer to this as well. 🙂 Such a beautiful space Jillian!
Hi Jill! Were building a new house and the electrician has recommended vanity lights as well as a ceiling light for the bathrooms. I haven’t seen this, especially in a modest sized bathroom. ensuite. What are your thoughts. TONS of natural light in the ensuite , no window in the main BR. Thanks a million! xx
Andrea
Hi Jillian. I am in LOVE with the sink and faucets, however, the only colour the faucets come in are silver. I really wanted them in matte black to match the rest of the bathroom. Is there any way I can plate them to matte black or strip them down to an aged brass? Any suggestions or advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!!!
LOVE your home tours! So inspirational!
Everything is beautiful, but that shower is to die for.
Wanting to see more buffalo plaid and pricing to order
What company in Kelowna did the shower wall/door?
Where did you happen to find the bronze tub drain for Leo’s bathtub? I’m on the lookout for satin bronze covers/trim for my soaker tub and don’t know where to start looking! Any suggestions?
Very nice! I like the makeover of this bathroom. I am inspired by your work and got some great ideas. Thanks a lot for the great article.
Would you kindly share who did the black shower door? I am searching high and low for something like this in Ottawa! Many thanks!
This blog resolved all my queries I had in my mind. Really helpful and supportive subject matter written in all the points. Hard to find such kind of blogs as descriptive and accountable to your doubts. Thanks For sharing this Superb article. it is useful For me Great Work.I should be write more comment on this fantastic topic. But I am busy because of preparing my ccna exam questions
Hi i really like the way through which you have arranged things.
thanks
I love this bathroom so much! I’m really struggling with designing a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 guest bathroom that is also going to serve as my powder room! Trying to make it cute as a powder room yet functional with the shower is really difficult! Your shower looks fairly narrow… Not the 36 inch with recommended… But I love everything about it! Can you give me the dimensions?
