Even though it feels like Easter is still months away, it lands on March 31st this year, so I thought now was the perfect time to share what I’m including in Leo and Annie’s Easter baskets!
I have so many happy memories of running around collecting easter eggs with my cousins growing up—and it has been so fun creating the same Easter memories for my kids and their cousins! We have quite a few Easter traditions in our family. In recent years, the Easter Bunny has visited us at the farm, and the kids get to run around the property collecting eggs. At the end of the Easter Egg Hunt, there is always an Easter Basket waiting for the kids as a “grande finale”. I always have so much fun putting together the Easter baskets, and this year, I wanted to share everything that I’m including in the baskets with you!
I’ve teamed up with Purdys Chocolatier this Easter season to give one of YOU a $300 Purdys gift card to purchase all the chocolates you will need for your Easter celebrations!! Scroll to the bottom of this blog for details on how to enter!
Purdys Chocolatier
First up is the star of the show, Purdys Chocolatier! My mother-in-law, Melissa, gets our family Purdys Chocolatier for every holiday, so it has become a tradition for us. What I love about this company is that it is family-owned and made in Vancouver, BC, so I feel good supporting them and feeding their chocolate to my family. I also love that they have vegan options for my plant-based family members! In the kids’ baskets this year, I included:
Barnaby Bunny
Egg Hunt Tote
Foiled Mini Eggs
Foiled Mini Bunnies
We also included a package of the Peanut Butter Eggs in each basket, which are SO delicious. I had to grab a snack for myself, of course, so I chose my ALL-TIME favourite, the Vegan Hawaiian Black Salt Caramels. If you haven’t tried these, you’re seriously missing out!
Cuddle + Kind
One of my favourite items to include in the kids’ Easter baskets is a stuffed animal, like these Cuddle + Kind Bunnies. With every doll purchased, Cuddle + Kind provides 10 meals to children in need around the world, so I absolutely LOVE supporting this business. It’s simply a bonus that their dolls are so cute!!!
Petit Lem PJs
How adorable are these Chocolate Bunnies PJs from Petit Lem? This is a brand that I have loved for YEARS – their products are such high quality. Getting the kids festive PJs is a simple way to make each holiday so special.
Books
I also love including a book in each Easter Basket! This year, I got We’re Going on an Easter Egg Hunt and The Easter Bunny is Coming to Canada – both of these books are so adorable. One of my favourite things to do for each Easter/Christmas/etc, is instead of keeping the seasonal books all year round, I only bring them out for the actual holiday! That way, the kids get excited to read the books each year!
Items I’m Reusing
Easter Baskets
It’s important to me to reduce waste when I can, and an easy way to do that is to reuse items from previous years! These Easter Baskets are the same ones I’ve been using since Leo and Annie were babies, and they’re still in great shape!
Paper Hay
I try to keep this paper hay and reuse it the following year when I can, but even if it does end up being thrown out, I feel good knowing that it’s fully recyclable.
Well, there you have it! All of my tips for curating the perfect Easter basket for your kiddos. Don’t forget to enter the incredible Purdys Chocolatier giveaway for a chance to win $300 worth of chocolate!!!
