Pregnancy Update: 7 Months & Counting!

That’s right … I’m 7 months pregnant now!! Crazy hey?! To be honest, my feelings and emotions have been nothing short of a roller coaster ride this ENTIRE pregnancy!! My first trimester was not good at all … I was sick and tired and mentally I found I just wasn’t myself!!

When my second trimester approached I really felt like myself again but I found that I wasn’t thinking much about the baby, I mean, obviously I realized I was pregnant … LOL … but I wasn’t really thinking about labor or giving birth … until I hit my THIRD trimester!!!

Now that I’m sitting here at the 7-month mark I am SO EXCITED for everything!! I’m excited about the delivery, the first night in the hospital room … I find myself wondering if she will latch … or what colour her hair will be … if Leo will love her right away, what our family dynamic will be like. You name it, I’ve thought about it!!

Physically in my third trimester, I have been fine minus the fact that I have very weak bladder control but I plan on going to see a Pelvic Floor Specialist for this as I don’t want to pee my pants in another grocery store like I did a few weeks ago (sorry, Nature’s Fare! LOL). I’ve also noticed that I’m on my feet too much lately (being the busybody that I am!), at the end of the night my feet and back hurt so much!! I literally worked right up until my water broke with Leo … so as you can tell, I don’t tend to slow down too much and I know that I’m not resting as much as I should be.

It’s also funny to look back and compare both of my pregnancies (so far!). With Leo, it felt like I was pregnant for a total of two months, it flew by! But … with my second pregnancy, it feels like I’ve been pregnant FOREVER (even though I know the next two months are going to whiz by!). Also, when I was pregnant with Leo I never craved alcohol but this time around it’s honestly all I crave!! Obviously, I’m not indulging in any of it but all I ever crave is a big glass of red wine!! I can’t wait until October hits and I can curl up on the couch under a cozy blanket with the fireplace going, both kids fast asleep, and a big glass of vino in my hand!!! LOL!!

Then there is the placenta placement … with Leo, my placenta was in the front so I didn’t really feel him much but this time my placenta is in the back and I feel baby #2 kicking and moving around SO MUCH MORE!!! It’s such an insane feeling!!

Speaking of my placenta … LOL … I turned my placenta into pills with Leo and I’m doing it AGAIN with this baby … I don’t know if it “worked or not” … but I DO know I felt AMAZING after Leo so I’m following the same suit!!

Recently I shared my nursery inspo blog with you (if you haven’t checked it out yet, click here!) and I’m happy to say that I’ve FINALLY ordered everything I need for the nursery and I plan on getting it all set up over the next couple of months!! Well … maybe I should cut that back to getting it done ASAP as I have a feeling I will be early with this one again!!

So that’s the update so far!! It’s been quite the process this time around and the days are starting to dwindle before we finally get to meet our little girl!! Even though I’m not getting lots of time off when baby #2 arrives, I’m still REALLY looking forward to it and being able to spend some quality time with my little fam and getting settled into a life with TWO babes!!!

  1. I can relate to everything you wrote. With my son it went so fast and I felt pretty good. I just gave birth to my daughter a week ago and I couldn’t wait , not only of course to meet her but I was done. I ended up having so many health problems that I had to be sent to Kelowna to give birth (I live in a small town) amazing hospital as you know and a great birth experience , but not the same as being close to home. But I gave birth via c section on July 24th to a health 8lb 13 oz baby girl. Her two year old brother love her he is amazing with her….. so far anyway haha. Good luck and the end is near .

  2. Congrats!! I’m so happy for you guys. I enjoy following you and hearing all of your stories. Thank you for sharing your life with everyone. It’s nice to know that celebrities have the same everyday issues as the rest of the world. Keep up the great work?

  3. My niece rarely drinks but with baby #2 she craved beer. And her second child was a girl also with the first being a boy. Best wishes in your last 2 months.

  4. Are you doing cord banking? I didn’t do it with my first but I’m thinking about doing it with my second that’s due in February and just wondering what your thoughts are on it?

  5. I always enjoy your posts and congratulate you on your career and growing family.
I had never heard of placenta pills until I read today’s post. Better than “simple” ingestion (that I was aware of ) but I am concerned about contamination and risk of infection as well as the safe preparation of the capsules.

  6. You should also look into seeing an Osteopathic manual therapist. They work wonders and can be SOO helpful when you’re pregnant (and sore). I highly recommend it! And as you said the PF physiotherapist too! Very beneficial – it’s never too late to see one. Hope your back starts feeling better soon (seriously check out an OMT!) 🙂

  7. Jillian, I wish you all the best on your upcoming delivery. I have never known such a strong person like.

Just remember to take it easy on yourself and relax. You do so much that I get exhausted watching you.

Anyways all the best and good luck.

    Ps love ya Nacho❤️

  8. Congrats! I love following you and Your journey! I had a baby 1 month before you had Leo and I just had baby #2 so it’s fun to be able to see how it’s all going for you and can totally empathize! I just had a little girl and I did not do her nursery beforehand except order a crib (we didn’t find out what we were having)! I’m excited to see yours and get some inspo so I can get it done!

Side note – I realllllly need to know where your hot pink glasses are from?! I’ve searched and searched websites and your blog and I cannot figure it out! Please tell me!!!

  9. Oh wow! I feel so much of the same! I am due with my 2nd Nov 4th and it feels like I have been pregnant FOREVER. Don’t get me started about the wine…I have never wanted a drink so bad! I blame the Ontario summer heat. Good luck with everything!

  10. I have been following along with this pregnancy since the beginning – I am pregnant with my first and due in October as well! As soon as I found out I was pregnant I started looking to your old blogs from your pregnancy with Leo. I knew I’d be able to find maternity wear inspiration, great products etc. Best tip from you was to find non-maternity wear that can work as maternity wear – it’s been a huge cost saver for me! Thanks for sharing, and best of luck in your third trimester! ?

  11. Hey Jill! Always love your blog posts and Instagram stories! I was wondering if you have a link anywhere with more information about how to get the ‘placenta pills’ :D? Is this something you coordinate or request through your doctor?
My husband and I are hoping to start trying next year. 🙂
    Thanks! Love ya loads!
    Jacqueline xo

  12. Hey Jillian,

I have a little boy a couple of months older than Leo and I’m due with a little girl the same week as you! (We also have a giant black lab who doesn’t seem as well behaved as Nacho).
I’ve felt exactly the same! Felt really good with my son and this has definitely been a bit more unfortable of a pregnancy. I also feel like with my son I really bonded with him throughout the pregnancy and this time it’s hard to as I’m so busy with a toddler now! It’s hard to focus on the pregnancy much at all.
I think going from one to two is going to be a big challenge but very exciting!

    Good luck with everything!

  13. I had much like the same ways pregnancy like you do now. I have boy, 1year7months now and baby girl 2months now. Good luck and remember to rest too! You are awesome. (Ig Follower From Finland) ?

  14. Your second pregnancy is like mine verbatim! We aren’t finding out the sex but based on the experiences you have posted about, looks like i just may be having a girl like you lol. Oh and the weak bladder is awful, it’s game over if someone makes me laugh too hard ?

  15. I can’t wait to see who she looks like and the clothes you will be putting her in!!! Good luck with the bladder leaks!! Lol… I’m sure you will just need to strengthen the muscle through some physio. I use to work in a physio clinic (in MTL) and there were many many women, who after pregnancy, needed some treatment down south for bladder and vaginal tightening. I’m sure everything will go back to normal with the right treatment.

Good luck Jillian and keep me posted on that topic. I’m actually curious…

  16. I rarely drink but wanted drinks more during pregnancy than ever before and ever since. I did have a small glass of wine occasionally and sips here and there. I felt “worse” about it when I was breastfeeding. I didn’t know which “batch” I should pump and dump. Like how fast does it get into your breast milk?! Good luck with the baby. Leo is adorable. (So are you)

  17. Great to hear you’re doing well. Try to get as much rest as you can. She will be taking more of your nutrients now and two kids will knock you back more at the beginning. From experience ?

  18. Hi team Jilly.! Jill- How did you go about turning the placenta into pills? Did you hire someone to help with this?!

    Thanks!

  19. You should read “Like a mother” by Angela Garbes!! It’s a quick read and talks all about pregnancy and has really important info. Also cool information on breast feeding 🙂

  20. Congratulations on your soon to be family of 4! I just wanted to recommend a friend of mine who is a pelvic floor physio in kelowna incase you didn’t have one yet. It is such an important part of pregnancy that many women don’t know about so it’s great that you are being proactive!

  21. Can you give more info on how you did placenta encapsulation? Did you just go through a company or what is the process? Thank you in advance!! ☺️

  22. It’s been so lovely watching your journey, Jill! You’ve mentioned previously in your Insta stories that you’re trying to get as much time as you can with Leo before baby arrives (my two children are twins – now 15 years old – so I haven’t had to worry about the effects of a new baby on an older child). Joanna Goddard, of the Cup of Jo blog, said years ago that when you are introducing your older child to your new baby, she read that it’s better to have your arms free of the baby (ie, have baby in a crib), so that you can hug the older child and they don’t feel immediate resentment towards the newborn. She also said it’s a good idea to have a gift for the older child, from the new baby. Apparently these can help smooth the way for a happy acceptance from the older child. Just thought I’d pass on those tips! Wishing you all the very best with these last few weeks of your pregnancy…

  23. When I was pregnant with my son, I was 37, I was actually stopped in the street by a man and he told me I was glowing and beautiful. I only ever felt beautiful the whole time. So very lucky. I also said, if I could bottle how I felt, I’d be rich. I wanted every woman to feel like it did. It was the absolute best. I worked up until the last moment too. Walked the dog, watched a huge storm come across Vancouver, the bam!..water broke. And a lovely 6lb 8os baby boy born 7 hours later. He was born at Women’s Hospital 1996. I loved the laughing gas, I told my Doctor her chairs were uncomfortable to wait in for sooooo long before the visit. Lol. I am an interior designer, so the designer i me could not take a moments rest. Anyways, I wish you all the very best Jillian I your last stage..can’t wait to see your bundle of joy I. Your posts. All the very best!

  24. I am due with my second October 13th and I’ve been right there with you with the same feelings. We have a boy and have decided to be surprised this time around as far as if the baby is a boy or girl…which has been fun, but it’s making this pregnancy seem like it’s lasting forever! The excitement has hit here too! I go back and forth between being so ready for baby #2 to get here and then just wanting to cherish the time with just my boy and make it special. Congrats to you and your family! 🙂 Cheers to October being here 🙂

  25. Love you Jill, you are such a ray of sunshine!!!
Good luck with baby #2. I am a single Mom of 4, the struggle is real but I get by with a lot of help from my family!

  26. Ugh the bladder problems are the worst!!!! I had terrible bladder control after my son, so bad I thought I was going to need surgery. I had laser rejuvenation and it CHANGED MY LIFE!! Plus it tightens everything… which is a huge bonus lol good luck with delivery number 2!!!

  27. I’m 7.5 months we’re with my second & I feel like I’m in wayy more pain than with my first. I started doing prenatal yoga and it has taken away almost all the pain in my lower back and hips!

  28. God bless! The heart you have us AMAZING. Your spirit undeniable. Wishing your family a blessed delivery and a BIG ASS GLASS of RED WINE!?

  29. I’m pregnant with my second too (23 weeks) and have the same bladder control issue this time around. Tonight I choked on some water. Besides it coming up my nose (no fun), I had three huge choking coughs so, yeah, my bladder emptied. ? Hoping it gets better after the baby isn’t in there pushing on it constantly.

Any chance you could also do a baby boy inspo board? ? I’m having so much more trouble with nursery ideas this time around.

  30. Hi Jillian!

I am also pregnant! With baby girl number one! Just over 5 months. I am absolutely terrified of giving birth lol. Any advice?

  31. How lucky is your baby girl to have such a special momma. Your family is blessed!!

There is a beautiful Psalm (139)
You are a child of God
    You are wonderfully made
Dearly loved and precious in his sight.

    Blessings to your family

  32. I love you sweetie! You are such an adorable down to earth person and that’s why I admire you so much. I love your honest straight forward posts. Keep on sharing! Ontario fan!

  33. Hi Jillian, I have to say I just love watching your posts and Insta stories. I’ve been watching you faithfully since yours and Justin’s show on W network.

I love to watch Love it or List it as well and can’t wait for the kelowna edition.

Anyway it’s been great watching you and your adorable little family can’t wait to see your sweet little girl.

Wishing you the very best with baby number two and your strength and vulnerability are inspiring.

    Trish S

  34. Jillian, I love reading about your pregnancy. I am pregnant with my first child (a girl!) due the first week of October as well. It is so fun to follow along with your story! I cannot wait to see your nursery, I know it will be beautiful!! Best of luck with everything.

    1. EEEPPPP!!!! CONGRATS!!! How exciting!!! I’ll be sharing more details soon … once I have it completed … LOL!!!

  35. Oh my gosh these photos are so sweet. Thank you so much for sharing your personal, intimate and downright hilarious moments with us. Peeing yourself in a supermarket has got to be a bucket list kinda of thing!

  36. I was the same with placenta in front on first baby! When people spoke about feeling their baby so much I just didn’t understand how they felt so much. Then with my second I finally realized ! And I loved it. It’s one of the things I miss about being pregnant. It’s such a special thing.

  37. Conragts!! You’re almost there ?
I really love your style and think it’s so inspirational!
I’m so exitied to hear what beautiful name you have chosen this time? ? There are many, many lovely names out there. Do you think it’s hard to choose or was it easy for Justin and you? Leo for example?
It would be nice to know what do you consider important when deciding on the baby’ s name. Maybe you could make a post of the item?
Wishing you all the best! ?
