Here we are, season ELEVEN of The Bachelorette … it seems like just yesterday I was standing out front of that mansion, pulling Chris Harrison’s finger in order to ease my nerves (something my dad would always do to make me laugh) … now it’s 6 years later and I’m officially one of the Bachelorette grannies! hahah!
Going into this episode, I was all ‘Team Kaitlyn’ she’s Canadian, she’s got spark, a good sense of humour … I just knew she would be a fun Bachelorette. And while I still ‘hope it’s her’ on tonights episode… I really fell in love with Britt too, both girls are just absolute beauties!
I’ve read a lot of conflicting opinions about last nights ‘double whammy’ ‘two bachelorettes’ situation and I think some people are taking it a bit too seriously. While both girls are real girls, who deserve real happiness (don’t we all?) at the end of the day, THIS is a TV show. If it weren’t for switching things up, trying something new, making our jaws drop and thinking outside the box, the show would get stale, and ratings would go down, and it wouldn’t get picked up. It is, at the end of the day A BUSINESS. It’s not a charity, and while the feelings that brew on the show are ‘real’ … it really isn’t REAL life, so it has to be treated on a whole new level.
YES I am sure it was very awkward for the girls… but I think we take ourselves too seriously when we start to call it degrading or disgusting. These girls are fun, open minded, strong and lovely humans. They made this choice to take this risk and find love in the most bizarre way and I think it’s important to remember, in life there really aren’t any rules. While we all might not agree on something, as long as it’s not hurting anyone… it’s fair game! I like to watch, learn and think how being in that position is making these girls stronger, more independent and open women! GOOD FOR THEM!
As for the guys, I don’t ever really have strong opinions on the first night, although I am REALLY curious to see what will happen with Shawn, if Kaitlyn is the Bachelorette. A) He looks like Ryan Gosling and B) There is obviously a STRONG connection there. SO ya, I like that guy and I feel REALLY bad for the drunk guy…. Ryan. I mean DUDDDDEEE how does that happen!!??? How does one KNOW they are being filmed for a global television show, and then get SO wasted that they turn into a complete monster?! He must be feeling really rough today. WHELP!!
Other than that, my only opinions are that the girls looked GORGE last night, I’m SO excited for tonights episode and I loved Kaitlyns dress and am now searching ‘navy sequin dress’ like a crazy woman! Maybe one a little shorter?
What do you guys think? Any strong opinions out there yet about this season?
I agree with you Jillian, that it’s just a show, and it doesn’t hurt to change it up. Change is hard but in the end, it will turn out just fine.
We don’t know what will happen, and the girls knew what they was getting into, so why feel sorry for them. This will be a GREAT season!!
I really want it to be Kaitlin as well 🙂 There were a few guys I like from the start – the dentist for one 🙂
It is television, so we have to keep this in perspective. I’m team Kaitlyn. I find Brit operates on the surface and find her difficult to read, as was the case on The Bachelor. Whereas Kaitlyn is just plain real and genuine; what you see is what you get.
Totally #teamkaitlyn. While brit comes off sweet, i think she IS a good communicator and knows how to say all the right words.
I like Chris the dentist, JJ seems nice and Joshua the welder.
And BTW– what was up with Tony’s black eye??? And kissing plants? SMH. And come on– an “amateur” sex coach? And don’t even get me started on Mr. Drunky. They sure did know how to pick them. 😉
I’m still rooting for Kaitlyn! Also, it seemed like more guys were there to meet Kaitlyn than Brit. As the episode went Kaitlyn got a little more comfortable with the evening and the true her seemed to come out.
I don’t think I can’t stand her voice and laugh for a whole season.
