10 Vegan Appetizer Ideas for Your Super Bowl Party

Hey everyone!! Who’s excited for SUPER BOWL this tomorrow?!?! I know some of you are … and I’m sure the guys in your household are counting down the hours!! Well, we all know that with the Super Bowl comes BEER and TONS of appetizers soooo today I wanted to share a few vegan appetizer ideas with you for your Super Bowl party!! A vegan spread can be JUST as delish as your typical football party spread, you just need to know what to prepare … here are some of my fave ideas!!

1. Beer

What’s a Super Bowl party without some brewskis?!?! ?

2. Popcorn

This is just a staple!! I love watching people eat popcorn when they are totally focused on something … just grabbing HANDFULS of it and shoveling it into their mouths … while popcorn falls everywhere … you know what I’m talking about! I love adding vegan butter (some people use coconut oil!), salt and nutritional yeast to my popcorn!! Here’s a recipe for Vegan Cheezy Popcorn and one for Seasoned Popcorn!

3. Veggies & Dip

I know … this is the sort of thing you expected, didn’t you?? Welp. It’s always good to have a some cut up veggies and dip (I like hummus!) to snack on … you gotta compensate for the beer, right?!

4. Potato Chips

I LOVE plain chips … no dip needed for me … just plain, salty, crunchy goodness BUT you CAN dip your chips in my fave garlic sauce, which I like to do from time to time!! Tori was just recently working on replicating this recipe and I think she’s going to be sharing it on her blog soon … all I know so far is that she used 18 heads of garlic … YUM!!!

5. Chick’n Tenders

Ok, these have got to be one of my FAVE appies!! Gardien’s Crispy Chick’n Tenders are my go to … let them crisp up in your oven (make sure not to flip them around too much, let them do their thing!!), pull them out when they’ve reached your desired crispness (the crispier, the better, for me!!), toss them in a healthy amount of Frank’s Hot Sauce and dip them in Daiya Blue Cheeze Dressing!!! I’M DROOLING! Also, if you’re not a hot sauce fan, just leave them plain!! They’re delish either way!!

6. Veggie Taquitos

These are always great with a sweet chili dip or a plum sauce. You can find either veggie or vegan Taquitos, Spring Rolls or Dumplings at most grocery stores in the frozen foods section!!

7. Veggie Meatball Subs

You have to have at least one appetizer that will fill you up and last a little longer in your belly with all of that beer you’ll be drinking so veggie meatball subs are perfect for this!! Love & Lemons has a great recipe for these, you can check it out here! Also, if you don’t feel like making your own “meatballs”, I love Gardien’s Meatless Meatballs, they’re delish and once you have enough marinara on top you can’t even tell that they aren’t meat!!

8. Nuts

I personally love to snack on pistachios, I would pick flavoured pistachios for a football party! You can’t really go wrong with these … unless someone is allergic to nuts … be cautious. Lol!!

9. Veggie Sausage

Field Roast has a really good veggie Italian Sausage and The Very Good Butchers also makes some delish vegan sausage!! This is awesome on it’s own dipped in mustard!!

10. Vegan Charcuterie Board

You can also make an epic Vegan Charcuterie Board for your Super Bowl Party in replaces of all of these other appies!! I made a huge one this summer and it was soooo good!! If this is something you’d prefer to do, make sure to check out my post here!!

  1. Great ideas! I agree, popcorn is a must! My fiancé is a vegetarian and I’ve been brainstorming ideas all week. I was going to do the veggie chicken nuggets but I never thought about tossing them in hot sauce. I love that idea!

    Thanks!

    Lauren

  2. Hey Jillian,
So not a Super Bowl comment but just have to get your advice. I have a small extra closet in my room with a Hvac system in it. What would you do with it?
    Thanks
    Emily

  4. Hey Jillian! Some lady friends and I are doing a girls weekend in Kelowna this summer and I was wondering if you have any vegan friendly restaurant recommendations? I feel like it’s so easy to DIY stuff at home but going out is a whole other story.
