5 Delicious Ways to Spoil Mom this Mother’s Day

If you have been following me over the years, you know that I LOVE to spoil my mama on Mother’s Day! The entire celebration is just so special because it’s a time for her and I to have the day (or the weekend … LOL! you can read more about that adventure, here) to just spend some quality time together. We always get up to no good (juuust kidding 🤪) but we sure know how to have some fun! This Mother’s Day I wish I could give her the biggest hug and take off on a mini girls getaway but since I can’t, the next best thing is to wave to her from the driveway and drop off a special delivery on her doorstep!

Whether you’re spending this Mother’s Day with the lady that helped raise you, or if you have to come up with another creative way to celebrate, I’ve rounded up 5 meals that you can cook with her (whether that’s in person or virtually) or you can whip something up for her and drop it off on her doorstep!! Let’s try to make the most of this celebration and let all of the ladies in our lives know how much they are LOVED!

1. Captain Kale Caesar Salad

Kicking it off with Justin’s Kale Caesar Salad! This recipe is so special to me because it is one of the first meals that Justin ever prepared for me, it was hook, line, and sinker from there!

2. Vegan Waffles with Strawberry Butter

Nothing says “Happy Mother’s Day” quite like these decadent AND delicious vegan strawberry waffles! They are super easy to whip up and a recipe that will be sure to make mama happy!

3. Spring Garden Mini Quiches by Fraiche Living

Ok, these adorable mini quiches give me all of the Mother’s Day feels! These remind me of an appetizer you would see at a fancy Mother’s Day brunch! Whip this recipe up and it will sure make mom feel like royalty this Mother’s Day.

4. Lazy Vegan Beet Rolls

As an ode to our Granny Marg (aka the beet roll queen), I wanted to share Tori’s Lazy Vegan Beet Roll Recipe. Not only was she was well known for her witty humor and cooking skills, but above all, she was famous for her beet roll recipe which you can find on page 249 of the Fraiche Food Full Hearts cookbook!

5. The Best Cinnamon Buns Ever by Basic with Bails

To top the meal off, why not add a dessert to the menu? Two of my all-time favourite desserts are these cinnamon buns by Basic with Bails and my moms DELICIOUS chocolate cake. If you have our cookbook you’re in luck because you can find Peggy’s famous Chocolate Cake on page 260 of the Fraiche Food Full Hearts cookbook, while I don’t have much of a sweet tooth – this cake is perfectly balanced, rich, and so spongy!

If you decide to make one or all of these recipes for your mom on Mother’s Day she will be SO grateful for all of the effort that you put into this special day! I’d love to hear in the comments below if you have anything special planned for your mama this weekend.
