Good morning everyone!! I’m back with another HOME TOUR!! So far, I’ve taken you through our Spare Bathroom, Leo’s Playroom and our Entryways … and today I would love to share our Spare Bedroom and Bathroom with you!! I absolutely LOVE this area of our home, a ton of thought went into this spare bedroom because we tend to have a lot of company throughout the year, especially in the summer! In our last home, we had a little casita in the backyard which everyone LOVED to stay in because it was so cozy and private but we don’t have a private guest house in our yard now so we had to make this space just as special!
We wanted this bedroom and bathroom to be private and far away from everyone else in the house so our guests could be as comfortable as possible! Having a spare bathroom right across from this bedroom was also important … we all know what it’s like when the coffee hits in the morning and you’re staying at someone’s house … and sharing a bathroom! ? Actually, the bathrooms in our home are my favourite spaces because they are each so unique and inviting in their own way!
Alright, let’s start this off by going over the little details of our spare bedroom and why I love it so much!! This room is on the lower level of our home and it has two beautiful french doors that open up onto the pool deck and covered area outside, these doors are from Plygem and the hardware on the doors in this room is from Emtek. Our pool wasn’t finished until late last summer so our guests near the end of summer were able to take full advantage of this room and this year it’ll be even better! My intention for this space was to make it feel like our guests were at their own private 4 Seasons getaway and I think we achieved this with access to the pool right off the room … nothing like a morning dip … or a late night skinny dip ?… We also created a shiplap feature wall from Woodtone to give this space a beachy feel!
I opted for wall scones from Wayfair versus bedside table lamps and I actually LOVE how they look! Typically I like to get my bedside tables form HomeSense but I always found the sizing of the ones they carry to be too small and I wanted these ones to be substantial so I searched for the perfect ones and ended up finding them at Pottery Barn, along with the bench!! I also love having extra blankets in my spare bedrooms just in case our guests get chilly, so I purchased the decorative ladder from a local store in Kelowna called Olive and Elle, leaned it up against the wall and draped the blankets over the steps to display them in a fun (and handy!) way. You can actually find decorative ladders online as well, Leo has a similar one in his room from Wayfair and it’s so cute!! The baskets in the corner are from Dreamy White Lifestyle and the mirror is from IKEA!!
The Fiddle Fig in this room is from Better Earth and Garden Centre in Kelowna, I wanted to have a real one but you can also find some great fake Fiddle Figs at Wayfair!! Less maintenance is always a plus, am I right?! LOL! The curtains were made by Q Design Centre, they are so heavy and beautiful, actually, you’ll notice that her drapes are throughout our home! The big pillows on the bed are from Cloth and Main (I’ve linked some of her pillows for you below!) and the pom pom pillow is from Wayfair! The linens are from Pottery Barn!! Both of our guest rooms have the Honeycomb Duvet Set on their beds because I love how it gives the bed that high-end hotel feel!! I also went through THREE headboards down here, and I can’t tell you exactly why I didn’t like the others, I guess they didn’t feel “right” in the space, let’s just say, I have some very happy family and friends as a result of my indecisiveness! Lol! I ended up going with the Matheney Platform Bed from Pottery Barn! I should also mention that the walls are painted in “Cloud Cover” from Benjamin Moore, the trim and baseboards are from Metrie and the lighting is from Sylvania!
Alright, moving on to the guest bathroom!! This pretty much turned out EXACTLY how I had envisioned it which makes me REALLY happy because the old bathroom was so hideous and scary and the ceilings were so low and there also used to be a terrible gross sauna in this bathroom too!! I’m so happy we decided to tear it up and start fresh!! I think it really pulled together beautifully and I personally love the white, creams and greys with the little pop of pink in this space! The vanity, faucets, and tub are from Kohler, the white quartz countertop is from Caesarstone, the mirror is from HomeSense, the wall sconces are from Wayfair and the shower curtain was made by Q Design Centre but the fabric is “Grey French Stripe” from Caitlin Wilson!
The tile in the shower is from Fireclay Tile and it’s called “Foggy Morning” and it has this gorgeous speckle in it, which I absolutely love!! I also know MANY of you are probably eyeing up the tile on the floor … isn’t it amazing?! It’s Bouquet II from the Cement Tile Shop!! Seen as how it can get a bit chilly in the basement, even in the hotter months, we made sure to have NuHeat install heated floors so keep our guest’s toes cozy!
As for the extra little details, the art hanging on the wall was from The Cross, the floating shelf was made by Carson from Urban Roots Furniture, the pink towels are from HomeSense (but I’ve linked similar ones below!), and the door hardware is from Emtek! Don’t worry … I didn’t forget to give you the details of the gorgeous pulls and the cabinet knobs above … these are both from the Precious Inlays Collection by Symphony by Schaub!!
Well, what do you think of our guest bedroom and bathroom?? Share your comments below and don’t forget to check back next week as I’ll be sharing yet another room in our house!!
xo

Loving your home tour. Thanks for sharing, Jillian! Can’t wait to see your master bedroom and bathroom. Love the guest bathroom you designed. It’s so elegant, welcoming and clean. Getting so much inspiration!
love it!!!!! amazing!!!!
I have been searching for a bed this style, but want it high up. And it looks like the bed on Wayfair
( the cavaillon panel bed) in antique bronze. The link you attached for the bed didn’t come up as Pottery Barn. What am I asking… could this be the bed… or a reasonable faximaly by Wayfair?
Thank you
So gorgeous!!! I’m using it as inspiration for my own guest bedroom. Where is the mirror from above the bed?
Absolutely stunning! Love how clean, fresh and chic both the bedroom and bathroom are. Such a treat for your guests!
Wow, I knew this would blew me away! Can’t wait for the rest Jillian!
from afar the shower curtain appears to have a diamond pattern but up close I can see that its a ticking stripe. weird camera trick I guess.
The GUEST ROOM AND BATHROOM are lovely BUT where do folks put their clothes? No dresser or closet?
Oh, man. I am in LOVE with encaustic tile. Gotta get me some of that. Those drawer pulls are pretty gorgeous, too.
Gorg!! Where is the mirror from above the bed?
Has anyone found the answer to this question? Where is the mirror above the bed from? I love it:)
Hi!
Love! Is the bed from pottery barn or wayfair? Please advise:)
Pottery Barn but they sell a similar one at Wayfair!
Where did you get the gray and white checked coverlet on the bed?
Pottery Barn!
Hi Jill!
I would love to know the colour palette you used for the guest bathroom please.
Prettiest wall scones (sic) ever!!;)))
Thank you so much for the inspiration! Love your style and decided to paint our entire main floor of our Victorian home in Ontario cloud cover as result of your posts! Happening this week !! Very excited ?
Ahhhh what a dream guest area!! Can you tell us what color the bathroom cabinets are? 🙂
Wow Jillian! J’adore ces pièces et ton style de décoration. Ça me donne pleins d’idées pour maison!
I have a (silly?) question. Your walls in the guest bedroom are Cloud Cover by BM, but what colour are your trims and baseboard from Metrie? I’m loving the white wall look but I have no clue what to do with the colour of the trims and baseboards. Thanks!
OMG that floor tile is gorgeous. I would never have thought to put a pop of pink with the greys, love it!! Can you please share the color of the bathroom walls. Love everything you do Jillian, you rock.
OMG Love everything!!! Please share your kitchen next! I’m so overwhelmed right now with having to renovating my husband’s childhood country home. I’m so thankful that you are sharing everything because your style inspires me so much!!!
Love the rooms … Thank you Jill for sharing
every detail of every one of your rooms is perfect #housegoals
Love both rooms! Where did you find the towel hooks? Thanks ❤️
Hi Jillian. I just LOVE your home. We will on Vancouver Island and have just built a modern farmhouse rancher. Board and batten with black windows. We are planning on painting the house white. Just wondering what your favourite whites are for the outside of a house and do you have the trim and house the same colour. I am really liking Benjamin Moore’s simply white. Thanks so much
Can you share the name of the kohler faucets and knobs. I can’t find it and I love them!!
Love, love the bathroom… bedroom too, but the bathroom is my favorite. A breath of fresh air!
Oh, such lovely ideas❤️…. so fresh !
Thank you for these great blogs. I’ve just subscribed to your channel and I’m loving it. (I’m the same age as your mum, I think?)
Hi Jillian,
I love all the rooms in your home, very nicely done. It would be a home I would love to live in. You must just enjoy living there with your family. Leo is a very adorable little boy.
Mrs. Harris? Not sure if this is correct. Thank you for sharing your ideas. I am not a fan of color on walls so when I came across this site I felt a sigh of relief. I love cloud white! I used it to repaint our master bedroom due to Hurricane Harvey. I am very pleased with the result. I don’t have to worry anymore about how or what to do in the other rooms. I look forward to reading your posts. Thanks again for sharing.
Sincerely,
Ann
P.S.
This bathroom is too pretty! Love the tile choices and the pops of color with bathroom accessories. So beautifully done Jillian! Is there any way you can share where the LOVE candle holder/plant pot is from? It’s so cute!
I love the blush colour in the bathroom! Its one of those colours I used to hate when I was younger, but honestly I have grown to love it. I find it can look less like a children’s room, and more like an adult space with a few extra touches of greys and whites.
You are my favourite decorator the colours and themes you use are so pretty and cozy. You make every single room stunning. Wish I could have you decorate my house. Enjoy your beautiful home you deserve it !!!! Keep inspiring us !!!!!!
Hi Jillian,
Where did you buy the towel hooks?
Wow… so adorable bathroom!
I just found your blog. I have watch Love It or List It program
and I was thinking that you are sweet and beautiful girl… and fit that
show well <3
What kind of shower curtain rods do you have? We have a tension rod in our shower as we have time up the whole wall of our shower but we’ve had trouble with it slipping. Any advice?
Love the results. Our business is often involved in renovating bathrooms, but we rarely get to see the finished product.
Gorgeous bathroom! We are building right now and I love your faucets! Where did you get these? What brand are they? Thanks so much!!
They’re from Kohler!! XO

It’s from Melinda at A New Leaf Floral, she’s from Kelowna!! xo
Hey!
You have nice blog and Tips.
Thanks so much for sharing this. Really love the bedroom interior.
Hi Jillian – absolutely love the design of this room, especially the bed frame! One question – does this frame allow for under-bed storage? What approx height is it off the ground? We are always looking for more places to store things!! Thanks!!
Hi Jillian, could you please share where your little spa stool is from? Thanks so much!
Your house is beautiful, I liked your bathroom decor a lot, especially those lovely rose flowers, that’s match with bathroom color. Amazing work & thanks so much for sharing this
Hi Jillian,
I have a great duvet and am looking at getting one of the honey comb duvet covers, do the duvet covers fit non pottery barn duvets? Thank you so much!
I love this bathroom! I’d love to do the same thing in the one we are designing. Is this a drop in tub or did you add millwork to an alcove tub? Can you share which one you used? The resource link just takes me to the home page of kohler’s webpage.
Hi Team Jilly!
I love your new site – it looks amazing! Question – can you please share where the rug next to the bed is from? It’s in one photo but looks so cute!
Thank you!
I totally loved it. Thanks for sharing
