When I think of Fall, I think of cozy chunky knits, visiting the apple orchard with the kiddos, scented candles, and of course, comfort food! And what better way to welcome Autumn than with our favourite apple inspired recipes to eat (and drink!) all season long!
We are so lucky to live in Kelowna, BC, where we have access to fresh local fruit almost all-year-round! One of my favourite Fall activities is to head to the apple orchard to pick and eat as many apples as I can right from the tree. And I like to snap a few photos while we are at it (multitasking at its finest 😉)! LOL!
Today, we have rounded up all of our favourite sweet and savoury recipes using apples as the star ingredient!
What better way to kick-off the cooler weather than with a nice stiff drink! LOL! All joking aside, this cocktail is perfect for sipping on or drinking with friends and family! Once you’ve indulged in this recipe once, you’ll know why this is one of our fan faves!
Smoothies are such and easy and delicious way to get all your fruits and veggies in! I love making them on the weekends for Justin, the kids and I as a healthy breakfast option! Tori’s Apple Crisp Smoothie recipe is perfect for enjoying apples all season long!
Now, if you are looking to treat yourself on the weekend, look no further than these Spiced Apple Cinnamon Waffles! Bailey from Basics with Bails shared this recipe on the blog, and it is by far one of our favourite waffle recipes, and not to mention it’s vegan! This famous breakfast dish has the perfect Fall twist featuring both apples and cinnamon!
If you are hitting up the apple orchards with your kiddos and have plenty of apples on hand, this recipe is a definite crowd-pleaser (also, perfect to eat all by yourself when the kids go to bed! LOL!). I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but these babies only last a day or two in our house!
Usually, when thinking of what recipe to make with the extra apples we have on hand, I always think of sweet dishes! I recently came across this recipe on the Minimalist Baker’s site, and I am adding this to my Fall recipe wish list ASAP! This salad looks so refreshing (and healthy) with a hint of apple sweetness!
