Peggy’s Green Smoothie Recipe

Hey everyone! It’s Jillian’s mama, Peggy here! Last year, I shared a few blog posts on Jillian’s site about my mental health journey (if you missed it you can check them out, here!). There’s no denying that eating a nutritious diet and daily exercise makes me feel good on the inside and the outside and I simply can’t go a day without my go-to green smoothie! Perfecting this recipe has taken a lot of trial and error, but I’m happy to report I have nailed my smoothie recipe and I am sharing all of the nutritious details with you today!

Green smoothie ingredients
Easy recipe

A few years ago Jillian surprised me with a Vitamix blender as a gift and to be honest, it sat on the counter collecting dust for quite some time. Once I started to feel more like myself again, I started to experiment with different smoothie recipes. Through trial and error, I ended up landing on a recipe that both my husband and I love (which is a bonus) that I have every morning! Trust me, you will fall in love with this recipe too!

My go-to green smoothie recipe
Delicious and filling

While this smoothie may not look green, you better believe it’s loaded with lots of leafy greens and awesome nutrients! LOL! If you are wanting your smoothie to be green in colour I would suggest using light coloured frozen fruits!

  1. This sounds delicious!
I’m a smoothie virgin and wonder if I need to peel the cucumber and apple? What brand of orange juice and coconut yogurt do you use or does that not matter?
Thank you for sharing your mental health story! 😊

  2. Hi Jillian/Peggy ~
First, Peggy so proud of you to share your story, very brave and unselfish of you. It certainly inspired me.
Second, Jillian ♥️ you, your spirit, your design and so much more.
Third, can’t wait to try this smoothie recipe. Please confirm for me when you state “fill high speed blender 3/4 full …” does this mean ALL ingredients and then all the ice?
A point my naturopath taught me about protein powder is to add it last, after all ingredients are blended, add the powder and ONLY blend until it is combined. Doing this does not break the protein powder down.
I look forward to hearing from you and thank you again ☺️

  3. It warmed my heart to see a mother and daughter in the same kitchen. Jillian you are both so blessed to have each other, always cherish these moments together!
Thank you for the recipes I will most definitely be trying it this week when I have all ingredients.

  4. Love the article with Jillian and her mom; sweet picture of the two of them. Wondering where Jillian purchased her lovely sleeveless pinkish top she wore in the pic?

  5. I’ve been having a smoothie every morning for 8 months now, and I feel like a completely different person. I am a lot happier, my skin has improved, and most importantly, I’ve lost weight! I’m glad you are also feeling better!

  6. I can’t drink almond or coconut milk or anything coconut. Any suggestions? I can have regular milk. There is that new no milk drink not sure what’s in it but interested

  7. I also have a Vitamix and love green smoothies, can’t wait to get what I need to make these, sounds delicious !!

  8. Can’t wait to try this recipe. Does the leftover keep well in the fridge overnight to have the next day if just having one glass?
